Lamu Sim Renewal and ALB Dream Fashion

ALB Dream Fashion

AnaLee Balut, owner and designer of ALB Dream Fashion has just reopened her sim after a renewal and O…M…G…what a fun sim it has become!  It was always a very unique and exotic sim which I enjoyed exploring when I visited her store.  But now she has added many fun things to do and not only that, the market place is like those small but fun shopping areas with narrow alleys and lots of stairs that can make a stroll so enjoyable!

Let me try to list it…she has a donkey ride and a camel ride that takes you through the sim and explains the RL places that AnaLee took the hint from.  She also has a hang-glider that you can rez and fly around the sim with.  She has LOTS of animals…and I mean LOTS!  An elephant, a rhinoceros, dolphins and lots and lots of donkeys.  She has lovely cuddle areas, exotic palaces and oh so much to see and explore!

Of course, the ALB Dream Fashion store is located on this sim too and offers as much of exotic pleasure as the sim itself with its colourful and unique designs that AnaLee is so well-known for.  If you have followed modeling or fashion in SL for some time, you will know that Mimmi Boa won Miss Virtual World 2009 by wearing AnaLee’s off-the-rack gown when every other finalist ran to get a custom gown made for them.

So what’s more befitting than to introduce one of her latest designs called ALB Muse Dress that fits the exotic atmosphere of the sim so perfectly!

ALB Muse Dress + Head Dress by AnaLee Balut

It’s not just befitting.  Just take a look at the details of this garment and how real the scarf looks with its transparent material that is embroidered with detailed designs.  The texture of the fabric used is also simply amazing.

To style this gorgeous outfit, I used an Egyptian-type makeup from a.e.meth that truly completed this look.

By the way, this is a snapshot of me enjoying my donkey ride.  Just beware though…this donkey stumbles a lot so hang on tight!

Styling note:

*I only used a black hair base for this outfit and therefore no hair is listed.

Mashooka Designs – Suhana

I went to visit my good friend and designer, Aradhana Voight to her store, Mashooka Designs and before I left the store, found this lovely summery outfit “Suhana” in the New Release items area.  I got the Grape colour and decided to style it a bit differently.

Mashooka Designs – Suhana (grape)

Suhana is a very cute outfit that uses silky printed fabric.  Something that is very fun to style during the hot summer season.

The metallic glitter tights that I wore here was a freebie offered in a store called G L A M which I obtained some time ago.  I still treasure this set as it is a set of tintable tights that you can add any colour you like by editing it.

I matched this with a new release from Mandala, called “Milky Way” which is offered only in white, as the name suggests.  And the shoes are a new release from Pixel Fashion.  The killer pin heel comes in several shades which you can change with a menu.

Clio Pret-a-Porter: Dynamic And Elegant

When I modeled for the Best of Italian show a little while ago where many Italian designers were featured, one of my fellow models was wearing outfits from Clio Pret-a-Porter. I was watching what she wore throughout the show as I loved them and was already contemplating on another shopping venture.

It took some time before I could go as I had been a little busy lately, but I finally did and boy did I enjoy myself!! I got myself two outfits that I liked the most and came back to take pictures so that I could blog about them. It was then that I saw a notice being sent from Clio Cardiff annoucing some new releases! What a great timing!!! And as you can imagine, I ended up going on my second round of shopping venture still dressed in a gown I got from my first round.

So now I have four gowns to show here of which the first two are the ones I got on my first round of shopping and the last two are the new released new colours that Clio has just released in her stores.

The first gown is called “Theresa Black Gown”. This gown comes in several colour variations and looks so unique. Although it is a simple mermaid shaped gown, the colour scheme and the frame-like line she uses on the body part makes this gown look so modern and yet elegant. The simple form further enhances these values. Even in a show environment, this gown stood out and it was this that initially caught my eye.

Necklace & Earrings: Jewelry by Jake, 62a – L’exquise beaute Black Diamond Necklace & earrings
Shoes: Stiletto Moody, d’Orsay (black)
Hair: Dernier Cri, Lara (black)

The next one is called “Embrace Dream Gown”. This was a gown Clio designed and created after she was inspired by looking at a giant statue of a man and a woman together in a steady but passionate embrace in the Black Swan Sim. Quoting from Clio’s blog, “As an embrace the dress is soft. It moves gently and holds the woman as if the skirt panels were the arms of a lover.
The sleeves are long, because a hug feels warm on your arms, and they are softer and somewhat heavier up towards the shoulders. Neck and shoulders are uncovered, to show a woman’s beauty and sensuality, and a flowered chocker adds delicacy to the ensemble.”

If you look closely, the bodice is also designed to have two different textures meet in the middle so the right side is different from the left. This symbolizes the two embracing eachother and becoming one.

I thought this concept was so beautiful and even if I had fallen in love with the dress at first sight, it made me love it more. So here is the original “Embrace gown” that I bought.

After the success of this original Embrace gown, Clio just released three new colour additions, two of which are shown here. This time, the colours are more daring and unique! So here are the new releases fresh out of the oven.

I Know It’s Fall, But I Still Like White!

I know that fall is in the air and we are all preparing to face the cold winter (or maybe not that cold depending on where you are). But I like white and I still want to wear white. So white I wear.

This is a white one piece short dress from A La Folie. I had once reported about A La Folie outfits in the Best of SL website but never in this blog. A La Folie is a sweet store that looks like a cowboy hut in a western wilderness. You can hear horses and see cactus plants as well as other nature items (which you can buy by the way) and among such lovely environmant you see a hut, that is acutally the store. It’s open in the front with no walls so you can take a good peep inside the store and inside………………….is a different world. Lots of sweet and feminine outfits that makes it hard to choose one or even two. It’s a girl’s paradise.

This outfit is a simple outfit as you can see. It has a skirt that is not super short, but a nice length to look stylish and sweet. A ribbon is tied at the back with lots of lace used in the top and the skirt. This outfit also comes in bright yellow which was also so sweet that it took me a while to decide on white.

pixivor Allen, the designer for A La Folie also has some lovely hats with sculpt flowers that are a must see if you like hats to go with your outfits. The whole store is just a sweet experience for anybody who wants to look girly and yet stylish. It has certainly become a store I regularly check out.

New Fall/Winter Collection From FTV: Part 2

OK…..so I had more than I wanted to show you from the fall/winter collection newly released from FTV (Frozen Valentine Turquoise). Yesterday, I posted about a plum coloured one piece outfit and also a teal blue and black top with silver leggings. Today, I have red outfit and also a chic black and white one to post. Together with yesterday’s post, you can see the wide variety of outfits that is just released. So much variety, so much different colours…..something for everybody.

So the red outfit is called Blood Rampage. It has a prim collar-like neck strap and an asymmetrical prim skirt. The top part is in gradation descending from black to red ending with bright red for the skirt which forms a sharp contrast with the solid black tights that the outfit comes with.

The next outfit is called Illuminati Rampage and this comes in a silver and gold version. The one I am showing here is the silver version and the difference is in the jacket colour with everything else being identical. It’s a pants suits with a black pair of high waisted pants that comes with an almost bare shirt top that looks almost like a scarf that is twisted. It also comes with a thick short jacket. I know it’s not easy to make outfits that look “voluminous” in SL and I love this sillouette.

New Fall/Winter Collection From FTV

So the long awaited fall/winter collection from FTV (Frozen Turquoise Valentine) is finally out! The new collection arrived to the store on Saturday the 11th so better go check them out!
This time, Valenttina Carfagno, designer for FTV, came out with a lot of new and exciting outfits. I love her outfits as they always have a twist that make them look unique and still either very sweet or chic and sophisticated. Out of the many she had come up with, I have Plum Rampage and Breeze Rampage. Plum Rampage is a plum coloured sweet one piece dress with a top that is a big leaf. The prim skirt spreads out from a high waist position making it look like a balloom dress or a long version of a baby doll dress. The key colour is deep plum purple, which is one of my favorite colours and also black. This outfit comes with a long black pair of gloves and also solid black tights to complete the look. It’s just so sweet!

And the second is Breeze Rampage. This outfit comes with silver leggings that balances off the sweet cute look of the black and blue top with woolly arms parts. This top can be useful matching it up with jeans or any other pants or leggings you might have in your inventory so it will be very useful during this season. Here, the colours used are so different from the Plum Rampage I mentioned before. It’s this variety that I love about this brand.

In the photographs below, I matched both outfits with new skins that just came out from Tuli as she opened her new Journey sim. The new skins are quite different from the former Tuli skins which I have always loved and wore when I wanted that cute, girly look. As you can see, the new skins have a more grown up and sophisticated look. Personally, I just love these skins and I can foresee myself using these quite often. And if you haven’t yet, you must visit the new Journey sim. Tuli managed to get great brand name stores to surround her new main store and you can have so much fun strolling around this really sweet fashion district which has trees, flowers, fountations….all the things that we women love. It’s just so soothing and yet the stores are all really nice stores. All you have to do is watch your lindens as for some reason, they tend to disappear when you visit this sim. A link to the surl is provided at the bottom for those who have very little patience and just can’t wait to visit.

Italian Fashion: OC Orage Creations

I had a hat that I bought some time ago that had a skelton on it. Yes it sounds spooky but if you look at it carefully, the skeleton has a loveable face (lol) and even looks kind of cute. But I have to admit, it was hard to match with outfits.

BUT…………..

In a store I visited in an Italian fashion district, I found an outfit that was just so perfect for this hat that I couldn’t believe my eyes at first! I just HAD to get this!

It was an outfit from OC Orage Creations, a store that sells outfits designed and made by Eletta Gausman, an Italian designer. What’s amazing about both this hat and outfit is that even if the theme of the texture is roses and skeleton, the whole thing looks very fashionable…nothing dark about it. I liked how the outfit is kept very simple too. Since the texture is rather colourful and bold, the simple design balances out in a nice way.

So here is my “cute skeleton” look.

Italian Fashion: Anubis Style

I went to see a fashion show in which my great friend models were appearing in. It was for Anubis Style and I loved it! The show was great but as I was fearing…….I couldn’t come out of it without spending my Lindens! Argh…….

So here are the two I got. Precious Blue and Bluemoon.

Hmmm….I wonder if I was in a “blue” mood. Well, at least I wasn’t “blue” in mood at all! But for some reason, ended up getting outfits both with “blue” in their names.

Designer, Anubis Hartunian, seems to be very good at using transparent prims effectively to come up with very interesting prim skirts. Her outfits have somewhat of a dynamic image from what I saw at the show, an element I loved about her outfits.

So here they are. The two blues – Precious Blue and Bluemoon.

A New Wedding Gown Store Opens!! (One Free Wedding Gown To Go!)

Are you planning for a wedding soon and looking for sweet wedding gowns? Maybe you also need outfits for the bridemaids?

I came across Wen’s Wedding Dreams, a store that opened just 2 weeks ago by designer and creator, Wen Winkler. She is also the VP and designer of OMG Inc., a store that sells a wide variety of outfits for both men and women that ranges from formal to casual as well as accessories such as hats. But Wen decided to open her own store to offer her wedding outfits to the dreaming ladies who were looking for lovely gowns to make their wedding day a day they will never forget. Her gowns are offered at reasonable prices and if you can’t find what you are looking for, she is happy to talk and do custom work.

I have to admit, I wasn’t looking for a wedding gown specifically, but since wedding gown stores often have nice regular gowns also, I thought I might drop by. After I saw her collection, I thought it might be nice to introduce her store to all those ladies who are looking for nice gowns at reasonable prices.

So here are two of her creations. The magenta gown had a great texture that showed the creases and the glitter part so well, while the wedding gown was simply so sweet! But now, after I purchased these, I realized that I had nowhere to wear the wedding gown!!!!

So…………

If you wish to have this gown, please tell me when your wedding date is planned for and send me a notecard and of course, your full name. The first one who sends it in will receive this wedding gown that I am showing here in my blog. If I get a lot, I will not be able to respond to all the applicants, so if you don’t hear from me, I am sorry but the gown has already been sent to one very lucky and happy lady. I will send this gown with my best wishes for a wonderful wedding and many happy and romantic days to follow.

Now let me show you what I got.

"Farfalla" from Styles of edo

One of the latest releases from “Styles of edo” is “Farfalla.” Mami Jewell is the designer and creator of all female outfits at “Styles of edo” and she has come up with yet another outfit that makes us feel sexy and in style.

Farfalla, which means butterfly, is probably one of Mami’s most gorgeous outfits. It has a top that is adorned by detailed embroidery which she had always been very good at. An extensive embroidery is added to the hem area of the skirt as well. The most astounding thing about this outfit, however, is the attension Mami gives to details. Just as an example, take a look at the see through part of the bodice. You can see how the crease made on this texture looks so real and also how the front and back textures match up in terms of position of the creases. These are tiny details for sure. But it is because of such detailed attention and care that Mami gives to her creations that her outfits have such a quality look overall.

The colours are lovely too. It comes in black and red of course as these are the most popular colours but the other colours are all lovely subtle shades that add so much to the delicacy of the outfit. The colour variations are aquamarine (blue), garnet (red), onyx (black), emerald (green), amethyst (purple) and topaz (light brown).

And here are all the colours.

Farfalla – Aquamarine
