SECOND LIFE PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 29, 2012
Announcement: Launch of a new group for promising starter models, “A Star Is Born!”
Kay Fairey announces today that she is launching a non-profit group that is dedicated to providing promising starter models with actual runway show experience to initiate their career start.
This group will be led by Kay Fairey and will admit a maximum of 20 new graduate students from any model academy in Second Life to provide real on-the-job runway show experiences which the members can list in their resume when applying for agency castings. Kay stresses that the group is neither an academy nor an agency and will not be affiliated with any particular model academy. All members will be asked to leave after they have three show experiences including shows by other groups in order to open their spots to newer graduates. This activity will continue while Kay is able to provide this service.
Shows will be organized and run by Kay at runways that will be rented with the support of BLVD Agency under BOSL Organization, where Kay is currently CEO. Blackbarbie Bravin and Wicca Merlin, who support this concept, have joined the group as Officers.
There will be a minimum payment made to all models which will be less than the market average for professional models but Kay stresses that she wants future top models to be accustomed to the idea of paid modeling jobs as she is also an avid promoter of paid shows.
Models spend a lot of money to style the given outfits so that they look good. I think it is only fair that models get some payment even if they will usually spend more than they earn. Free shows with no payments made to models are taking advantage of the money models pay out of their pockets to make the outfit and the agency look good and this is not fair to them.
The way new graduate students are invited to this group may change in the future but for now only those who have been recommended by various modeling academies will be invited to the group to make sure the promising future top models get priority in taking advantage of this system.
A separate letter will be sent out soon to modeling academy Owners and Directors.
A special thanks goes to Mr. Frolic Mills of BOSL Organization for supporting this concept and allowing this group to use his runways as show venues.

Forever yours…what a romantic phrase this is. And it’s not just a phrase of words. It is the name of a new gown that was released by Agnes Finney’s My Precious in February which is, of course, the month of romance.
To style this lovely gown, I used a similarly sweet makeup tattoo that is available from Noya Designs that has a version with a beauty mark and I also used a gorgeous jewelry set from Virtual Impressions that use diamonds and rubies, intertwined into a rich and lovely design motif.

The long awaited Academy Awards have been announced! And in the current cinema environment where high-tech graphic technology such as CG, VFX and 3D are becoming the norm, a french silent film depicting a relationship of an older silent film star and a rising young actress, The Artist, has won The Best Picture Award! The film also won awards for best director, best actor, best original score and costume design. Wow, I’ll have to see this film!
Watching news of the Academy Award inspired me to create a Red Carpet look and a new gown that was released by Orage Creations with its Italian designer, Elettra Gausman, was the perfect gown I was looking for!
The deep midnight blue, which is one of my favorite colours, gave this gown an elegance that had no match but with added glam brought on by the over-sized ruffle decor that gave spice to an otherwise simple and classic design.
I matched this with a new set of jewelry just released this past weekend by Virtual Impressions, Majestic Jewelry in Diamonds on Platinum. The rich floral motif of this jewelry set was more than what I was looking for to complete my Red Carpet look.
Now all I need is a handsome man to escort me down the aisle. Any volunteers?
Styling Note:
*Noya Designs makeup tattoos are now only available on SLmarketplace.

The Womenstuff Hunt has started! This hunt will run from Feb 3 to March 3 and although I haven’t joined the hunt yet, I believe you can get some really nice items that are exclusive to this hunt.
The poster in this post is an corset outfit from NV Corsetry that I modeled for with my “chubby” shape that I made for the recent Burlesque Show. 😛 NV Corsetry is #10 in this hunt so if you like it, go join the hunt today!
For details on how to join, read the Womenstuff website where it explains the hunt.
Good luck!

Sascha Frangilli of Sascha’s Designs is releasing a very hot and exciting pants series! It’s called “Paisley Pants” and comes in four amazing “dark” colours as well as another four “light” colours, which is eight colours in total!
Obviously the “light” colours tend to have a more spring-like feel but it’s been really cold this winter and a bit of a spring feel is something we can all welcome as long as we are living in countries that have cold winters. For me, it’s been a tough cold winter this year and I am totally in love with the bright colours of these pants to brighten up my day!
Here, I styled one pair of pants from the “dark” series and one more from the “light” series. For the “dark” pants, I styled it with one of the newly released fur bolero jacket from Bliss Couture for a more winter look.
The Ruffle Coat from Bliss Couture that I am wearing also comes in eight colour variations: blue, grey, magenta, noir, olive, pearl, purple and red. With so many colours to choose from, I am sure you will be able to find one, if not more colours, that you like!
These fun and pretty pants are a great way to add some colour to our winter fashion!
I made the second look using a pair from the “light” colour series. These are very fun to style too as you can easily pick one colour from the pants texture and add that colour as a point colour to your look.
Here, I styled it with a shirt from Coco for a more spring look and an amazing bag from Indyra Originals that is colour change in the main leather part and straps that allows up to 729 combinations!
Sascha's Designs, Paisley Light No.3 Pants & Indyra Originals, Ireben Leather Color Change Carry-All
The makeup I wore in both looks are from Egoisme.

I came across a really fab store called Siryelle’s Dream which was a store I visited for the first time. The designer, Siryelle Yalin, impressed me a lot with her very delicate designs and lovely texture.
Two new gowns were just released when I visited and I decided to buy one of the new released dresses but also one more that was not a new release but a gown that caught my eyes. The two were so different but both very unique and great designs.
The new release, “Lady Dark“, is a boudoir type gown and I absolutely loved this outfit colour. This gown can be worn as a gown or as a lingerie dress with a garter and stockings. What’s unusual about this outfit is that it comes with this hair I am wearing here as part of the set.
And the next one, “Orange Delight Gown“, was not a new release but nevertheless a really lovely gown. It comes with a black top and also a matching orange top so you have an option for the top and it also comes with this lovely hat. The flowers you see in the picture are attached to the hat and works as a great accent to this rather simple but impactful gown..
Siryelle also has some lovely boots that match her outfits which, of course, can be used with other dresses so check the store out if you haven’t yet!
The necklace and earrings I am wearing here are both from “Fairy Tale” which is a Japanese store that just had a renewal opening of the store. The creator, xxxriexxx Serevi is one of my models in Dione Fashion Agency, but she had been a jewelry creator before she even started to model. This jewelry set is her new release which she prepared for the renewal of her store and also has a matching circlet which I am not wearing here. I loved this very unique design which I thought was perfect for this gown with a modern design.

GizzA Creations’ newest release is called Tricot Set that comes in four colour variations, Ultramarine, Champagne, Olive and Plume.
Here I am wearing Ultramarine which is a very deep blue that can be better described as a deep cobalt blue rather than navy blue. It looks like it’s black here but it is actually a very pretty and very dark blue. It comes with a red leather belt and the red/white scarf with a matching colour corsage.
I decided to style this with a large tote bag and get ready for a fun shopping tour over the weekend. Yay! Retail therapy is always the best!
Outfit: GizzA Creations, Tricot Set (Ultramarine)
Tote Bag: Boom Clothing, Take It Easy Tote, Sacred Heart*

*Note: I have added 0.05% glow by editing the tote bag to get a brighter colour.
**Note: Unfortunately the store closed only a few days ago. I am hoping that it will come back soon. 😦

I went to visit my good friend and designer, Aradhana Voight to her store, Mashooka Designs and before I left the store, found this lovely summery outfit “Suhana” in the New Release items area. I got the Grape colour and decided to style it a bit differently.
Suhana is a very cute outfit that uses silky printed fabric. Something that is very fun to style during the hot summer season.
The metallic glitter tights that I wore here was a freebie offered in a store called G L A M which I obtained some time ago. I still treasure this set as it is a set of tintable tights that you can add any colour you like by editing it.
I matched this with a new release from Mandala, called “Milky Way” which is offered only in white, as the name suggests. And the shoes are a new release from Pixel Fashion. The killer pin heel comes in several shades which you can change with a menu.
Dress: Mashooka Designs, Suhana (grape)
Tights: G L A M, Tintable Metallic Lycra Tights
Necklace & Earrings: Mandala, Milkyway2 Necklace & Earrings
Bracelets: Mandala, Milkyway Bracelet
Prim Nails: CCD, Prim Nails + Ring, Famous (Turquoise)
Shoes: Pixel Fashion, Eve Temptation (Purple)
Hair: I made this hair myself and it is not on sale
Poses: Manifeste Poses – The Art of Posing
