I’m Feeling The Spring! Solidea Folie, Blooming Spring 4

2014.3.22 SolideaFolie Blooming Spring_4_012 It’s this time of the year that I start to feel light, happy, joyful and playful. 😀  In real life, I’d want to go outside, take my car for a spin and going to the park with my dogs becomes a true pleasure.  I must say, during winter, walking the dogs is a chore especially if the weather is bad.  lol  It’s probably not a coincidence that I also just got my new car which is yellow and it looks nice to be driving it in pretty spring colours.  🙂 2014.3.22 SolideaFolie Blooming Spring_4_011 And in Second Life, my wardrobe starts to get more playful with lots of pretty colours too.  I get inspired a lot by pretty dresses with happy colours so it was almost natural that I got attracted to this beautiful gown by Mila Tatham of Solidea Folie.  It was so perfect for my mood that day.  I wanted to style it so it will be “fluffy and light”…of course, not in a literal sense but in a “feeling” sort of meaning. And this is the first week that I’m not turning on my heater in real life.  Yay!  Good bye, winter.  See you around in fall! 2014.3.22 SolideaFolie Blooming Spring_4_004small

Fellini Couture for ‘Hope For Emilia’

Fellini Couture – Tentation W&B Hope For Emilia

“Rebuilding Lives, Restoring Hope”

Hope for Emilia, held through August 9, is a fundraising event for the victims of the recent earthquake in Emilia, Italy.  Many brands have joined in to support this charity project, donating exclusive items that are only sold on this event site with 100% of sales going to charity.

100% of the funds raised with this event will be donated to victims of the earthquake through a an official bank account opened by Emilia-Romagna region and all transactions will be public on the Hope For Emilia website.

Here, I am introducing this love gown that was released by Fellini Couture as the exclusive item.

“Fellini Couture – Tentation W&B Hope For Emilia” is a black & white mesh gown that is chic, elegant and glam!  I am also using an exclusive face tattoo released from White Widow.  This face tattoo comes in various colours and has the “without eye shadow” versions for each colour.  The one I am using here is the “with eye shadow” version.

The hat I matched in this styling is one of the new hats released recently from Bliss Couture.  Being a passionate animal lover, the bird in the hat was enough to make this one of my favorites.  Needless to say, it is stylish too!

The jewelry set is a new mesh jewelry that has just been released from Virtual Impressions.  At this store, new items are released every Saturday and group members can buy all new releases at 50% discount for the first one week period.  So this is one group worth joining if you have group slots you can open up.

Eshi Otawara New Release – Radiant

Eshi Otawara, Radiant in Red

This month, we see a new release from Eshi Otawara called “Radiant.”  There are colour variations that are made available but here I am wearing it in red.  Some prims that make up the outfit are scripted so that the texture moves as if it has a gleam adding a very unique and interesting feel to the entire dress.

The hat worn here is part of the outfit set and together with the dress, it creates a very lovely and avant-garde look.

Classic Elegance & Beauty, “Dotia” by Tres Beau

Tres Beau has a beautiful new dress called “Dotia” which I fell in love with right away.  It is truly a dress that is elegant with a classic style while it has this modern appeal mixed in such an amazing way.

The soft chiffon skirt almost blends into the patterned top with an over-sized ribbon tied on the side, giving this dress the glam it deserves while the ribbon also creates a perfect balance with the wide-brimmed hat that comes with the dress.  I added very short wrist length gloves to the dress as I tend to like short gloves in real life too.  It just shows that short gloves are not just for casual looks as long as it is not heavy leather and instead, made of more delicate material.

For a classic styled dress like this one, I also tend to like wearing classic and traditional pearl strands.  This double stranded pearl necklace is from Virtual Impressions made from the legendary Akoya Pearls which are famed for its luster and shine as the highest of all cultured pearls.  Genuine Akoya Pearls, actually only exist in antique jewelry pieces, however, and can have almost unbelievable prices.  The necklace made my Virtual Impressions is made to give it that aged look which explains the creamy colour of the pearls used.

Went To MAD Agency’s “Hunger Games” Party!

The Capitol fashion by Kay Fairey

On Saturday, April 28, MAD Agency, where I am registered as a model had a party based on a “Hunger Games” theme.  “Hunger Games” is a film based on Susan Collins’ novel published in 2008 with the same title and it has become known for the couture fashion that is worn by the people in the futuristic nation where the story is staged called The Capitol.

There was a styling contest and unfortunately I didn’t win.  But it was a lot of fun styling for this and that was the most important thing. 🙂

So this was my version of The Capitol fashion using a mix n match of different outfits.

I am not going to paste a link of the place where I got these outfits….as it will be featured by the Best of SL Magazine, May issue which will be published in 2 more days on May 1.  If you are interested to find out where I got them, please read my article in this issue.  Hahaha, that was some shameless self-promotion. 😛  But on a more serious note, I did not want to spoil the fun.

Sascha’s Designs Releases La Seine

Sascha’s Designs has a new dress and it’s goooooooorgeous!

Sascha Frangilli, owner and designer of Sascha’s Designs has come up with an absolutely lovely dress for those who love something romantic to wear.

Sascha's Designs, La Seine in Cream

“La Seine” comes in different colours but as always with Sascha’s gowns, you can choose three different skirts, making this a very versatile outfit for your wardrobe.  The set, of course, includes a big long skirt and a slightly shorter skirt with ruffles in the upper part, which I wore here, but you can also choose to wear this outfit as a cocktail dress with a short mini skirt.  The hat I am wearing is also part of the set.

Sascha's Designs, La Seine in Cream worn with Glamorous Accessory Set by Crystal Line

The jewelry set I wore here is a new release from Crystal Line which is colour and texture change.  What I love about this set is that the gem colours are changeable into soft and mellow colours such as the pale pink you see in this picture.

Sascha’s Designs, “Purity” Styled In Two Directions

Sascha's Designs, Purity

Sascha Frangilli, designer and owner of Sascha’s Designs, has just released two gorgeous gowns.  One white, called “Purity” and another black called “Tainted“.  Like most of her gowns, Sascha has included so many outfits parts that allow infinite styling possibilities.  She even includes three different pants layers and five different skirt shapes.  For the price you pay, which is very reasonable to begin with, this is so much value for your money!

Instead of blogging both gowns, I decided to try two totally different styling using the different outfit parts in the Purity set.  So here they are.

For the first look, I used the ‘split pants’ and ‘hip split swirl’ which is a half skirt that attached to the right leg, leaving the left leg bare.  I also tried a slightly fantasy look.  The Exile hairbase that I used here is an excellent hairbase set to have in your inventory as you can get a whole fatpack of different coloured hairbases for free at the Exile store.  You will find the vendor placed right in front where the new released hairs are sold.

And for the second look, I used the ‘full pants layer’, ‘skirt layer’, ‘fluffer skirt’ and ‘big collar’ in the Purity set.  The parts called ‘big collar’ is the elaborate bust hem and shoulder piece that you see in the pic below.

I took another shot just to show another top arrangement that the set allows.  Here I used a ‘stola’ instead of the ‘big collar.’  Actually the possibility is just too many and the blog post will end up way too long if I tried to show all.  But at least this will give you a glimpse of the variety of styling that is possible.

Japanese Designer On The Watch – Lika Ruby

Phew….after I spent practically a week working hard to prepare for the BOSL Spring 2012 Collective Fashion Show that was held over two days this weekend in which we showcased 100 outfits and 20 sets of jewelry, I am back to blogging again.  It’s funny how I start to feel frustrated when I can’t blog and there are so many great creations out there that I sometimes feel impatient when I can’t.

So back to happy blogging. 🙂

Lika Ruby - Mika Dress in red

Today, I have a Japanese store to introduce that is not well known yet but one I think has a very promising future, Lika Ruby.  She is a Japanese designer who definitely deserves attention.  She is very unique in that she creates a lot of outfits inspired by Chinese designs.  Her newest release that just came out is this “Mika” dress that looks like a mix of Japanese and Chinese design with an Obi-like* wide belt that looks like it was taken from a kimono worn over a mesh dress that has woven pattern that is Chinese inspired.

In spite of this, the silhouette is a regular Western dress so it can easily be styled like any dress you are used to like I did in this blog post.  “Mika” comes in six colour variations and here I wore red.

I did wear this same hat when I blogged Xanadu’s Jumpsuit in Kenya in the BOSL blog but after trying different stylings, I just couldn’t find any other that I liked more so I gave up and decided to use this hat again.  Hahaha so much for loving a hat.  😛

A Lovely Cocktail Dress From a Japanese Designer – Connors

Connors, Georgette Lace Cocktail Dress (Ivory)

I visited Connors just to see if there was anything I liked.  I found this lovely cocktail dress at Connors that was marked as a new release.  I loved how the lace skirt slowed out from a very low position, giving the dress an almost 30’s type vintage feel.

Connors, Georgette Lace Cocktail Dress (Ivory)

So I set off to style a modern vintage.  In other words, a look that had a taste of a vintage look without going all the way 30’s.  I picked pale lilac as a colour I wanted to add which was something I thought might not over-shadow the lovely ivory colour.  The gloves you see in the pic were gloves with relatively large cuff parts which I decided not to use to keep it simple.

Connors, Georgette Lace Cocktail Dress (Ivory)

It is always very difficult to find the exact colour shoes you want but with these pair of shoes from Virtual Impressions, you can use a HUD that comes with the shoes and pick what ever colour you like using a colour chart.  This is what I love about Virtual Impressions shoes.  As long as you can find a shoe’s design that matches, you never have to worry about the colour.

Katsucide Skins, Laura Pale (lilac)

The skin I wore here was a new skin from Katsucide Skins called Laura skin in light.  This skin store is also participating in FFL (Fashion For Life) and has a really great drow skin if any of you are interested.  And one of the drow skins “Sandra cendre – Cerise – Dark” is an FFL donate skin, which means 100% of the sales go to FFL.
