Have You Checked Out The Cool New Jumpsuits From Xanadu?

Xanadu's latest release, Jumpsuits "Kenya"

If not, you must!  I saw this outfit posted by Xanadu on her flickr page where she posted a pic of this outfit as a preview and omg…I fell in love! ❤

So here I am, blogging “one” of the four I now have in my inventory.  Xanadu Damiano released this jumpsuits in so many variation that it made decision making a very hard job.  They vary not only in colour but also in the print design and theme so you can imagine what a headache it was to pick just one!

A spring look using Xanadu's jumpsuit "Kenya"

Did I say retail therapy works to relieve any stress/hunger/irritation/frustration/whatever-symptom-you-may-have?  So here it is, Xanadu JumpsuitKenya“, which is the one with a tiger animal print.  It’s just so cool and yet it can look really stylish!

It comes with a narrow belt that uses the same fabric but here, I wanted to create a spring fashion, so I replaced it with a pale olive-green sash that matched the colour of my hat.  Then completed the look with a yellow bag as an accent and makeup with green eye shadow.

A fun make up using green eye shadow

But of course you can wear this without any changes also.  Both the top and bottom are mesh so you will need Linden Lab’s official Viewer 2 or any third-party viewers available that works with mesh to see it.

Lamu Sim Renewal and ALB Dream Fashion

ALB Dream Fashion

AnaLee Balut, owner and designer of ALB Dream Fashion has just reopened her sim after a renewal and O…M…G…what a fun sim it has become!  It was always a very unique and exotic sim which I enjoyed exploring when I visited her store.  But now she has added many fun things to do and not only that, the market place is like those small but fun shopping areas with narrow alleys and lots of stairs that can make a stroll so enjoyable!

Let me try to list it…she has a donkey ride and a camel ride that takes you through the sim and explains the RL places that AnaLee took the hint from.  She also has a hang-glider that you can rez and fly around the sim with.  She has LOTS of animals…and I mean LOTS!  An elephant, a rhinoceros, dolphins and lots and lots of donkeys.  She has lovely cuddle areas, exotic palaces and oh so much to see and explore!

Of course, the ALB Dream Fashion store is located on this sim too and offers as much of exotic pleasure as the sim itself with its colourful and unique designs that AnaLee is so well-known for.  If you have followed modeling or fashion in SL for some time, you will know that Mimmi Boa won Miss Virtual World 2009 by wearing AnaLee’s off-the-rack gown when every other finalist ran to get a custom gown made for them.

So what’s more befitting than to introduce one of her latest designs called ALB Muse Dress that fits the exotic atmosphere of the sim so perfectly!

It’s not just befitting.  Just take a look at the details of this garment and how real the scarf looks with its transparent material that is embroidered with detailed designs.  The texture of the fabric used is also simply amazing.

To style this gorgeous outfit, I used an Egyptian-type makeup from a.e.meth that truly completed this look.

By the way, this is a snapshot of me enjoying my donkey ride.  Just beware though…this donkey stumbles a lot so hang on tight!

Styling note:

*I only used a black hair base for this outfit and therefore no hair is listed.

Looking For A Party Dress?

This is the fun time of the year when we have lots of parties coming up till the end of the year and also a time when we have to watch our weights! (Yikes!) Some parties will be formal so you might be looking for a gorgeous gown and some will be less formal. But no matter what the dress code is, it’s nice to be dressed to impress.

As most of you know, SL has LOTs of gowns and we can find lovely gowns quite easily. But what about cocktail dresses or dresses that will make you look fab when dancing?

Samahi Couture is a store you might want to check out. It has so many styles that you’ll have a hard time choosing what you want to buy and so much variety in both bright, striking colours as well as chic colours like black and gray.

What’s stunning is the array of glitter dresses you can find. Samahi Couture is not all about glitter but it’s certainly a store you want to check out for that party glitter! Here I am introducing two outfits I liked. Yes, you guessed right! I couldn’t make up my mind and ended up getting two myself! 😛

The first one is called Ka’tching Dress. It’s a lovely pink glitter dress that comes with an asymmetrical cocktail length skirt as well as a full ballroom gown skirt so you can pick the skirt depending on how you want to style it. I am sure gown skirt will make you stand out with all its glitter in a formal scene but I particularly liked the shorter skirt. I think this will look lovely with dance movements which is a must for fun parties.

The second dress is a chic and yet gorgeous mini dress called Silver Snake Dress. It is basically a white and transparent mini dress with snake like patterns made with silver glitter. This dress is very stylish, sexy and can be styled in so many ways. I love dresses that give me flexibility to style. 😀

Samahi Couture – Silver Snake Dress

Having Fun With Styling – Amanda Bolero Mix

I found this really interesting skin from a small skin store and decided to have some fun styling using this skin.

So I took two separate sets from Amanda Bolero and mixed the two and matched this really cute (or rather…..odd?) hair with a bird’s nest by Clawtooth by Clawtooth. I love it when I find interesting items from small stores like these. These may not be gigantic stores with lots of choices but you can really come across some jewels in smaller shops.

This skin and hair were perfect examples. The skin is a really interesting one with no brows, lots of freckles and pinkish cheeks. But the overall look when used right was very couture and elegant, as well as sweet. Since I found this, I have been using this skin quite often.

The hair comes with blue birds, but you can purchase other colours as options. So these pink birdies were not the default birdies that came with the hair but so perfect for this look. The creator includes a notecard in the set assuring you that these birdies won’t “poop” on your head!

As for the outfit, the cute shorts I have on came with a tank top which made the whole thing look more casual. So I changed it with this somewhat metallic looking top which is a very versatile top that can match pants as well as skirts and have an effect to turn most looks into a couture look.

Top: Bolero C0llection, Giubbottino Pink Metal (jacket only)
Shorts: Bolero Collection, Estivo Rosa (shorts only)
Bangles: RYCA, Texture Change Bangle (silver)
Earrings: Chloe, Shards Set (platinum)
boots: Courtisane, Allumeuse Boots (snow)
Hair: Clawtooth by Clawtooth, A Place To Call Home
Skin: Fashionably Dead, Bird Skin

Mashooka Design: A Taste Of The East

Mashooka Designs is a brand that I modeled for at the beginning of May for a show that was done by Ewing Fashion Agency. I have to admit, I had not had much experience with this brand other than having heard its name and but since the show, I have definitely become a fan!

Aradhana Voight, the designer for Mashooka Designs, has a gorgeous lineup of outfits which includes Indian Saris as well as non-Indian outfits. What I loved about her outfits is that all of her non-Indian outfits had the same rich colours and gorgeous texture as her Indian saris, giving her outfits a very high quality image as well as a uniqueness with which her designs could be identified with.

This Nene Dress is a good example. The red used here is very rich and the texture is like silky velvet with great shading. It has some gold embroidery which gives that ethnic touch and high quality look. The black lace is an undershirt layer and the outfit can be worn without this.

The show I was in for Mashooka Designs was, in fact, one that comemorated its second anniversay and new sim opening. On its new sim, the brand is housed in a grand building which is separated with a teleport landing point in the center. One side is dedicated to more ethnic outfits while the other side houses more regular outfits and gowns. The sim also has a lovely garden area with an open air theater which is where the show was held.

Gold jewelry matches this outfit very well and used ones I had from RYCA.

Outfit: Mashooka Designs, Nene Dress (red)
Bangles: RYCA, Texture Changing Bangle (gold)
Earrings: RYCA, B-Chandelier Earing Gold
Nails: Persona, Polished Nails (live red)
Shoes: Adam n Eve Shoes, Classique (deep red)
Hair: Tukinowaguma, Katharine (ebony)
