Lamu Sim Renewal and ALB Dream Fashion

ALB Dream Fashion

AnaLee Balut, owner and designer of ALB Dream Fashion has just reopened her sim after a renewal and O…M…G…what a fun sim it has become!  It was always a very unique and exotic sim which I enjoyed exploring when I visited her store.  But now she has added many fun things to do and not only that, the market place is like those small but fun shopping areas with narrow alleys and lots of stairs that can make a stroll so enjoyable!

Let me try to list it…she has a donkey ride and a camel ride that takes you through the sim and explains the RL places that AnaLee took the hint from.  She also has a hang-glider that you can rez and fly around the sim with.  She has LOTS of animals…and I mean LOTS!  An elephant, a rhinoceros, dolphins and lots and lots of donkeys.  She has lovely cuddle areas, exotic palaces and oh so much to see and explore!

Of course, the ALB Dream Fashion store is located on this sim too and offers as much of exotic pleasure as the sim itself with its colourful and unique designs that AnaLee is so well-known for.  If you have followed modeling or fashion in SL for some time, you will know that Mimmi Boa won Miss Virtual World 2009 by wearing AnaLee’s off-the-rack gown when every other finalist ran to get a custom gown made for them.

So what’s more befitting than to introduce one of her latest designs called ALB Muse Dress that fits the exotic atmosphere of the sim so perfectly!

ALB Muse Dress + Head Dress by AnaLee Balut

It’s not just befitting.  Just take a look at the details of this garment and how real the scarf looks with its transparent material that is embroidered with detailed designs.  The texture of the fabric used is also simply amazing.

To style this gorgeous outfit, I used an Egyptian-type makeup from a.e.meth that truly completed this look.

By the way, this is a snapshot of me enjoying my donkey ride.  Just beware though…this donkey stumbles a lot so hang on tight!

Styling note:

*I only used a black hair base for this outfit and therefore no hair is listed.

ALB Dream Fashion has always been very unique in its designs as well as colours used and AnaLee creates her own world with her amazing creations.  In case you didn’t know, Mimmi Boa wore AnaLee’s off-the-rack gown when she won Miss Virtual World 2009!

Vintage Beauty

Vintage designs have its own place in fashion. They used to be the leading the trends of the times be it the 20’s, 30’s or 50’s but now, since they fall out of the “current trend” they have become “timeless.” In other words, they have won their own place in fashion.

I have a love for timeless fashion. Especially when it comes to elegance, the haute couture fashion in the old days had a touch of elegance that, in my mind, no other fashion can even try to compete.

So naturally, I have a huge inventory of vintage fashion and wear them from time to time. Sonatta Morales is one of the stores I love dearly and it’s one of the stores I pay regular visits to whenever I have a craving for retail therapy. In other words, even when I am not on a mission to find particular items for a certain styling project I have, I would just drop by to satisfy my craving.

Today I wore “Arabesque”, a lovely delicate outfit using lots of lace. Hats are also a must item for vintage fashion and the outfit sets that have hats included also serve as my source of hat collection. I often use only the hats to match with other outfits when I want that vintage feel to the look.

The jewelry I wore here is the “Cupid Set” from R.A.Crystal, a Japanese jewelry store with Rama Anatime as the creator. What I like about Rama’s collection is that she always includes two sets of the same necklace with one attaching to the spine and another attaching to the chest. I often have to reattach necklaces if they interfere with other outfit parts but it saves a lot of time with her sets because I can just select the one that doesn’t interfere. It’s a little thought that goes a long way.

A New Casual From Kunglers

One of the recent releases from Kunglers caught my eye. “Lucylle” which came in three colour variations but I got the one that was labelled “blue.” It was a casual style that was hmmmm….how shall I put it….”a controlled explosion of colours.” Some days I want to dress chic and elegant, but there are days when I want fun in my styling and it was one of those days when I came across “Lucylle” and I couldn’t leave without getting it.

I must say, I had a blast styling this. The colours that are in the skirt are so varied and so interesting that depending on what colour you add to the look, the whole image changes like a chameleon. And it was fun mixing and matching various items that might look nice with this outfit. The bright colours used do pose some difficulty in SL where it’s not always easy to get the exact colour you want but I guess that is the same in RL. But with so many colour options you have that you can pick from the skirt, it’s a fun process to see what I can match.

Whenever I want bright colours, the first place I turn to is ALB Dream Fashion that always never fails me with items that come in lovely bright colours. The colours that designer AnaLee Balut uses are very complicated colours and not just plain bright pink or orange, for example, just like the pair of shoes I am wearing in these pics. She has a distinctive style with her colours which I love so much. And sure enough, she had the exact shoes I was looking for. Stylish pumps in a blend of pink/orange. 😀

Then I added a brand new release from PISA where Japanese creator Emi Woller offers some very detailed formal jewelry that are usually based on classic Italian designs. This newly released necklace, however, was a fun item designed around grapes. She made a necklace with a grape pattern but also came up with colours inspired by the various grape species you can get. Like this one I wore was inspired by muscat grapes with a refreshing green colour that was then translated as peridot gem.

Then for hair, I chose Eran 2 from Mirone which is a hair shop by another Japanese creator, Miu Edman. It’s a fun casual hair with colour changing hair band that will be a nice hair to have in the coming summer months as it should look really nice with swimming wear. In fact, there is a Mirone store right next to PISA’s main store. So you might want to check out both.

So thanks to AvaGardner Kungler and her wonderful creation, I ended up having a great time styling and so much fun!

ALB Dream Fashion – DIOR Impression Cloud

The other day I posted about AnaLee Balut‘s DIOR Impression Flower Set, which was a lovely pink gown in the Runway magazine blog. Today, I have one from the same series but this time, it’s a set called DIOR Impression Cloud. A dainty white gown with a touch of smokey lilac and a hem that’s not as long as a full gown makes this a somewhat nostalgic piece. As I said in my previous post, gowns in this series by AnaLee are all inspired by the great designs of DIOR but each one is different and that’s what makes it so interesting.

It was such a tough decision to choose which one I wanted with so many lovely gowns to choose from and I had the toughest time. After lingering around for so long, I finally decided to get two, which was the Flower gown and this Cloud. I liked the nostalgic feel this dress had while still good for any party.

The Chi Chi Pumps in cream colour from Maiiki Maitreya were a perfect match with its off white colour and smokey lilac trimmings. It was almost as if these shoes were made for this dress.

I also wore some sweet flower jewelry also from ALB Dream Fashion since I didn’t think gorgeous gems will suit this dress and I wanted to play up on its dainty image.

Fun, Fun, Fun at ALB Dream Fashion!

I tp’d to ALB Dream Fashion as I heard that AnaLee had put out an advent calendar. Ooooh those happy and sweet memories! As a child, I used to LOVE advent calendars. Not that you get anything from them but by opening the windows every day, I would count the days till Christmas and the act of opening the small windows itself was so fun!

But this time, you not only get to open the windows everyday, you receive gifts! She said she has all sorts of items in each window, jewelry, outfits, even skins! Now how fun is that!! And AnaLee always puts out great freebies every month! None of them are freebie quality. The monthly free gifts are usually a complete outfit set that can include even skins and different sets of jewelries. Even if they are not for free, I love her dynamic and So even without seeing what I get, I know this must be good. Well it started from December 1 so if you haven’t gone yet, you’ve already missed some days. So hurry down before you miss any more!

And when you get there, don’t forget to click around. She has also scattered various free gifts as well as very low priced items in her store. It’s almost like a treasure hunt, only that the gifts are not hidden. They are out there, but just may not look like gifts.

AND have some more fun while you are there. There is a skating rink outside the store, where you can get male and female skate shoes for free. There is also a lovely and charming snow covered garden where you can take a ride on a merry-go-round, buy gorgeous cushions and rugs you see placed here and there (and they are nice too! If only I had more prims…..sighs) or even enjoy a snowball fight! I was alone when I went there and when I saw a snowman that had a message that said I could get a snowball to throw and a collider for free, I thought to myself “damn! It’s no fun snowball fighting on my own. 😦 ” But when I took the snowball and collider anyway, there was a notecard that came with them that said I could even buy the snowball giver for free!! Yay! This means, I can rez this anywhere I like and let my friends take the snowball and collider also! And the collider that comes with it will make you fall if you get hit. Now THAT’s some FUN! And I don’t even have to tp my friends here for them to get the snowballs! By the way, the snowman holding the giver was free too. This will be a great set up for a Christmas party!

So I came back home with a huge smile on my face. I not only got a lot of great items for free, I had so much fun and even enjoyed a nostalgic and sweet time remembering my childhood days. Seriously, this advent calendar is something you really don’t want to miss.

Have fun!!

The HUGE advent calendar placed on the right wall outside the entrance to the store.

November Gift Item From ALB Dream Fashion

One of my favorite stores is ALB Dream Fashion with all the colourful gowns and outfits that are so unique. Designer AnaLee Balut certain has a LOT of creativity and creates the most dreamy fashion. No wonder she named her store “ALB Dream Fashion.”

What’s amazing is that she always places a monthly free gift item for all those who visit her store. This is wonderful for me as I am always so capped in groups that I don’t have any slots left to join store groups. So I make it a regular trip to visit her store every month to pick up the monthly free item and also to do other shopping as well. I must say, the items she places as free definitely do not look like any freebie at all! She always has a full set of outfits that can be sold in her store as any regular item or sometimes even more with everything like skins and accessories included.

For the month of November, she had this set – Firebird Set. As the name suggests, it’s a gorgeous dress with flaming colours! If you don’t attach the prim parts, it will even be a sexy lingerie with a sweet thong and a corset tied at the back.

To match this gorgeous gown, I wore a feather hair accessory that is colour changing to fit various coloured outfits. The colour “mango” was perfect for this set. And to finish off, I wore the same coloured make up skin from Lion Skins which is also my fav with so many different make ups to choose from. If the make up colours fit the outfit you are wearing, you are sure to achieve the most stunning look! On the other hand, I decided not to wear any other jewelry. With this gown, feathers and make-up, sometimes too much can be an over-kill. As you often say, “the last piece is always too much!”

This time, I also took some pics to take in the atmosphere of this lovely club that my dear friend introduced me to. Club Noir La Musique – a world of black and white and so chic. The bright gown made a perfect contrast to this simple world of no colours but if I go visit again, a pitch black dress might be chic and befitting to this club also.

It’s Getting Cold And I Need A Coat!

It was getting very cold here, at least where I am located and I wanted a coat. So I went off coat shopping. There were so many different kinds of coats but this time I got myself one that will make me look like a Hollywood actress. LOL Oh well, It’s free to dream anything in SL right? I might as well dream BIG!

This is a coat from ALB Dream Fashion. It came in two colours but I picked the one in grass green. The folder had a short version and and a long version and I could choose whether I wanted fur with them or not. Believe it or not, the one I am wearing here is the SHORT version. The long version is much longer! I tried it but I think I prefer the shorter version as this is, in my opinion, long enough!

So the scene I had in my mind was…a Hollywood actress going shopping. So….I would wear jeans inside. Not a fancy dress. I kinda like wearing casual clothes under a dramatic coat but don’t ask me why. So this is the look I made. Casual plus a dramatic coat with fur! Hmmm….now I need a fancy man in a white sports car to come pick me up. 😛 Any volunteers?
