Last Minute Valentine Gift Ideas

You’re still looking for that Valentine’s Day gift? And you still can’t think of a good one?

Well I have some ideas…..I’m not going to say they are the best in SL because I can’t possible go to all the stores in SL to rank them. But I am pretty sure, they are nice gifts you might want to consider.

The first one is a pair ring from ROZOREGALIA. One for yourself and the other for your partner, girl friend or boy friend. It comes with ring boxes for both rings and are all transferable (no copy). ROZOREGALIA is one of my favorite stores that has really high quality jewelry with amazing texture and exquisite production quality as you can see from the vendor poster below.

ROZOREGALIACarpe diem No.1 (Platinum/Diamond)

I also made some more suggestions in the February 8th show of Fabulous Fashion TV (my accessories part starts from 24:35 in the video.

Run, run! Valentine’s Day is this coming Sunday!!

A Gorgeous Mermaid Dress for Haiti

A store owned by Japanese designer, Likka Noel, called Likka House is participating in a charity supporting Haiti with a gorgeous gown. This gown is called “The Name Of The Rose” gown that comes in a whopping 10 colour variation. The beige gown is offered for L$50 with all sales going to the Haiti charity. All other colours are offered for L$300, which is still a big bargain price!

This is a beautiful and romantic gown with lots and lots of sculpt roses that are attached even to places like your hand. So by the time you wear all the roses, you look as if you are covered with rose flowers. What surprises me is that Likka manages to arrange all these roses in such a way that it never looks distasteful.

The gown is being sold in her main store in Sannomiya, Japan but also in her branch store in the ROMAN sim, which is a sim that reproduces Japan during the Taisho period which was a short era under the reigns of the Taisho Emperor dating from July 30, 1912 to December 25, 1926. This was a very short period considered as the time of the liberal movement known as the “Taisho Democracy” which is usually distinguished from the preceding chaotic “Meiji” period under Meiji Emperor and the militarism-driven first half of the “Showa” period of Showa Emperor. It was a very short period but had distinguished culture, fashion and style and many Japanese still look at that period as a very peaceful and romantic time in the history of Japan.

ROMAN sim is such a well made sim that not only Japanese SL residents but many non-Japanese residents become repeat visitors. So it might be worth paying a visit to Likka House in the ROMAN sim and enjoy the tour of the sim after you have finished with your shopping.

Perfect For Parties Both Formal And Fun!

Sascha’s Designs has a new outfit released called “All That Jazz.” What a fun name!! It already makes you think of all the fun times you can have with the outfit. 😀

And my expectations are not betrayed with the set that Sascha offers in this package. It comes in seven colours but here I am wearing the one colour coded as silver. All colours come with black skirts and it’s the glitter part where the colour changes. But no matter what colour you choose, you are assured of getting lots of glitters thats done in a very tasteful style.

Sascha’s Designs – All That Jazz

It has a long sleek skirt which I chose to wear with a boa collar that is also included and a shirt type that give you more exposure. This look can be described as sexy and glam. Here I tried wearing some necklace which I can if I attach it to spine as the boa is attached to chest. But with this boa, it seemed a bit “too much” so I decided to wear only earrings and a bracelet. I love wearing bracelets over gloves, in fact. I think it makes the whole outfit look rather elegant, but again, it depends on the outfit design.

Since the skirt is not a big one, I chose a hair that is a bit voluminous but still formal. This
one I used is a very recent release from Exile which moved to a new location. So any Exile fans out there, remember to take the surl below to go and grap a new LM if you haven’t yet.

Next, I wore the short skirt that was also in the set. So I changed the shirt to the other shirt that was in the set that has less exposure with a halter tank underneith. So this time, the boa collar goes. Now I have a fun look that will be great for fun parties at a club. By the way, there is also two cute “patches” that are called “nipple hider” given as an undershirt layer. So if you really feel daring, you can just wear those for maximum effect too! (What maximum effect? giggles)

Aha and skin!! This is one from the new skin line “CANA” that just came out from Lion Skins last night. Each skin tone has 19 makeups as gorgeous and daring as always. The body contour is great too. As a user of fair skin, I’ve been told so many times from skin makers that getting a contour for fair skins is the hardest and achieving it in darker tones is easier. That’s quite understandable as it must be easier to add highlights and shades on darker colours. So with CANA skins, Lion Jonesford had been working hard to come to the rescue and I’m very happy with the results.

A Cool Gown Released From Sascha’s Designs

Sascha’s Designs is a store that sells mainly formal gowns that have a very feminine taste. Well, at least, that was the image. But Sascha is changing!

She released a gown with a slightly different image recently called Roxanna and now she even released some casual wear! I will show the casual outfit in another blog post and today I have “Roxanna” which is a cool black gown with a thick leather belt around the waist and a sheer scarf that drapes down the back from both shoulders.

The prim skirt also uses a unique texture that looks almost like feathers that fall straight down from the waist.

A simple but cool gown like this is something I find most interesting to style as there is room to play around with accessories. For example, although I wore the gown in the style that it came with, I can replace the scarf with another scarf that I might have to add a point colour, or even replace it with a rather voluminous necklace in which case, I might wear a similar bracelet over the gloves.

But today, I kept the original style and instead, matched it with an interesting hat from Chapeau Tres Mignon that looks like a net ball hat that covers the entire front of the head and face. It looks like I have a net over my face, which is a classic and elegant favorite without making the entire ‘look’ look too classic.

To keep the relatively simple and lean look of the gown, I wore simple pumps but one with a good quality look from Styles of edo.

A Formal Wear That We Have Been Waiting For!

Yes! At last, after Styles of edo had been creating men’s high quality formal wear for so long, winning the “MFA 2008 Best Male Fashion Label” and “Vain Inc. Readers’ Choice Award 2008, Best Male Formal Wear” only last week, edo Tone has finally decided to share his talent for the SL ladies to enjoy.

He had made a single lady’s suit last year for a charity auction for RFL. However, no regular items of such was ever introduced that customers can go buy in his store. Finally they are here! The “Black Suit for Women” and the “Red Suit for Women” were released only today!

Haven’t you ever thought you could never stand out in a sea of beautiful ladies with gowns? In such an environment, a sharp and smart look of a lady in a men’s suit can be so much more sexy and so much more cool! Just like Yves Saint Laurent when he introduced the very first pants suit for ladies…..it was welcomed by awe and still remains a legend in the history of fashion.

The key becomes styling, however. If you just threw on these suits, they can look like women wearing men’s suits. As simple as that. So what do we do? I think we should try to look as sleek, sharp, smart and sophisticated as possible, yet have some leeway to reveal some sexiness, which should never be over done. Too much ends up in bad taste. Of course, this is my personal taste, so I am sure there will be others who will think otherwise. But this is how I styled them.

For the black suit, I wanted a very sharp look with red as the focal colour. So I wanted some short red gloves but I couldn’t find the right colour and style so I quickly made my own. It’s not hard. Just go into appearance, click on gloves, make new outfit, choose the length, texture (if you have any appropriate ones but don’t worry if you don’t) and colour. Voila! You have your own red gloves. I also added red with the tiny bit of shirt that shows from underneath the jacket as well as my lips and shoes.

Oh and one more tip about makeup. For makeup, your face should be imagined as scoring 100% with all the features. So if you use strong lip colour, it works best if you refrain from using strong colours on your eyes. On the other hand, if you used strong colours for your eye shadow and a lot of it too, the lip should be more subdued. Of course, there are irregular makeup designs that aim to achieve certain images or looks but this is the basic yard stick which I learned in RL when I was trained by a makeup artist and for regular makeup, it helps me avoid big mistakes. So here, the make up I chose focuses on the red lip and the eyes are less focused except for some lashes.

As for the red suit, I added a bit more softness overall in my choices. I still like my hair short but the one I am wearing with the red suit is a bit more round and soft. I also wore a lingerie bustier from Angel Dessous instead of a shirt since all you’ll see is the lace part and it conveniently exposes a bit of my tummy. 😛 With a belly button showing, I might want to add a belly ring here but then I remembered. This is styled as a formal wear. So in thit case, no belly ring. I often see people who will wear belly rings whenever their belly buttons are exposed but belly rings are also a jewelry piece and you want to be selective when it will be better to have one or not. Another thing I kept in mind was to not add too much red. The suit is red already so too much red becomes an over-kill. So here, I chose a sharp looking makeup with pale lips and pale red nails too. The shoes I chose is also a sharp looking pair as in the black suit but this time, a plain black pair.

Now jewelry. With these kind of outfits, glittering pieces with lots of gems or very flowery, feminine designs won’t match since I am going after a sharp look. It was only by coincidence that the best pearls I know in SL were released from Styles of edo also. I often wear the triple strand necklaces for my gowns but here I chose the single strands for simplicity. Akoya pearls (antique pearls which I blogged about earlier) for the black suit and for the red, I chose the Tahitian Pearls which are the greenish black pearls, also the best I’ve seen in SL so far. Of course, earrings should be simple too, so I chose the plain studded earrings.

Both suits have pants that come in underpants and pants layers and also in regular and low rise styles. Here in both pics, I am wearing the regular style pants.

Oh damn. I am talking way too much! I should just show you the pics which is probably easier. 😛 My apology for getting carried away but that’s how excited I am so I hope I am forgiven.

azul: A New Brand From Mami Jewell

Mami Jewell, who was releasing gorgeous gowns and dresses under the “Styles of edo” brand, is now selling her outfits as “azul.” She has launched an independent store in a new location and brought back the brand that she used to have before joining “Styles of edo.” She is now selling two outfits for 100L each, one of which is the purple version of this “eWe” that I am showing you here today. This “eWe” comes in four colour variations as her new release since she opened her new store.

I matched it with a lovely scarf from Zaara. This cashmere scarf also has many colour variations as well as a more plain version in many colours too. I love the way it snuggles around your neck and falls to the front and back, looking so real and natural.

The shoes are from a brand that used to be called “Haysuriza.” These shoes have great quality and an awesome shine. They are now sold under the “Styles of edo” brand so you can find all the variations in edo’s store. “Styles of edo” owner and designer, edo Tone, says his concept is “to only sell items with good quality. And that leads to selling a dream.” And based on that perspective, he chose these shoes made by Hays Uriza to be sold in his store.

I used one of my fav skins, InZane again to complete the look.

New Coat Collection from Styles of edo

Styles of edo, that has been launching a lot of new items lately has now come up with two new coat collection to prepare us for the winter season. Vivace, a short coat with a pants set and also Andante, a long version with short pants and stockings have been released together with Tahitian Black Pearls and also a creamy coloured pearl jewelry from Styles of edo. Here I will show Vivace and Andante.

Vivace is a short coat that comes in 5 colours; black, brown, pink, blue and green. All coats have these colours weaved with black so none of them are bright coloured. Here I am wearing pink and as you can see, pink is really not pink pink, but more of a subdued colour that is “pinkish.” It has fluffy fur surrounding the neck and sleeve ends for a classy and elegant look. Here, I have worn it with the pants set that comes with the coat. A patterned shirt and a dark gray pants that matches the coat but these can be changed to any outfit you have that can be worn underneath.

I wore this set with a hat and also with a clutch bag that I got from one of my favorite stores that sells great accessories as well as shapes and skins, “+plus*.” Helena Compton of “+plus*” has many attractive bags as well as other items that you can choose from to match with your outfits and I must say, I must have bought out her whole store! I have to look for items I don’t have yet as I love her items so much. If you haven’t yet, you must go down and see for yourself. By the way, it seems like she has moved her store so if you have been there but haven’t visited for a while, try to tp from the link below and make a new LM so you have her new store location.

I wore this set with the Tahitian Black Pearl necklace. Tahitian pearls are known to be at the highest of quality in black pearls and the colour is very distinctive, being of a somewhat greenish black when it shines. edo Tone, was very particular in getting this colour reproduced in SL when he had Chrissy Ambrose of Virtual Impressions make the jewelry for him. And you can see that the efforts paid off as the pearls are not just plain black but generates a lovely greenish shine that must had been hard to achieve in SL.

Styles of edo – Vivace (pink)

Coat and pants set: Styles of edo, Vivace (pink)
Necklace: Styles of edo, Short Single Strand Tahitian Black Pearl Necklace
Earrings: Styles of edo, Short Single Strand Tahitian Black Pearl Studded Earrings
Short Boots: Biddle Boots, Pirate Ankle Boots Black
Hat: Hat Heaven, Red and Black Regal Feathered Hat
Clutch Bag: +plus*, Big Clutch in Croco Leather
Hair: Sirena, Josephine (Black – Midnight)
Skin: Tuli, Meredith (light) nicely nude

The next one is the long version, Andante. Here I wore the black version but the sets come in the same 5 colours as Vivace, black, brown, pink, blue and green. But here, instead of the shirt that came with it, I wore the new top released from Baiastice as the shirt that came with the set was the same as the one that came in the Vivace set. I matched it up with the new bag that was also released from Baiastice and another one of the Black Pearls Collection necklace but this time in double strand to match with more volume that I have with the longer coat. Again, this coat can be worn with other outfits you have that can be worn underneath so long as it is not a jacket layer and it does not take up the prim parts attachment places that the coat needs.
