A New Release from Glitterati by Sapphire – Alisha Coffee

Glitterati by Sapphire with designer Sapphire Teebrook has just released “Alisha Coffee” on July 3.  It is a casual set that includes a corduroy type tube top, a short jacket in cream colour and three types of corduroy type pants that you can style; slim pants, boot cut and capri pants.  Of course you can style this with or without the jacket and with different pants so it a very versatile set with a very good value.

Glitterati by Sapphire – Alisha Coffee

Here I styled the slim pants with the short jacket and wore another new items from Glitterati that was released together with the outfit set, which is the really cute sneaker type ankle boots that I am wearing here in the pics.

This outfit set is sold for a discounted 199L for a few days and the ankle boots are offered for a whopping 75% group discount for a limited time also.  So run and grab them now before the limited sales is over!!

I matched these with a hat from LeLutka, a really nice casual tote bag from Boom and also a new type of jewelry released from ByKay.  These Cleo Jewelry were created by KayLeigh McMillan with special care taken to keep the ARC (Avatar Rendering Cost) down.  So this new low ARC jewelry will be perfect items to wear to heavy-lag events and fashion shows.  KayLeigh will be releasing more designs in her low-ARC jewelry series so these are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

A Must For The Coming Season! – Tres Beau "Winter Whites"

Kimmera Madison of Tres Beau has made another wonderful outfit set, which is a must buy for this coming fall/winter season called Winter Whites. It’s a pants suit that comes with a winter jacket and a coat, a fedora and matching gloves that look so warm and stylish that I must confess, I have been wearing this for almost 5 days straight! The set comes in three colours, white, blue and red and here I am wearing the white version.

Tres Beau – Winter Whites

You can change the jacket prim part to make it a long coat and since both the jacket and the coat are made with the jacket layer, you can match it to other outfits you have. The fedora and gloves can also be used quite easily with other outfits you have too and this is why I thought this set is so versatile and a must buy for the coming season.

I loved the colour also as it is a colour better described as “off-white” rather than white and together with the nice texture Kimmera used, it brings on a very soft and elegant image to the entire look.

I matched it with jewelry and shoes in soft brown colours to complement the elegant image of the outfit. I must say, it’s not easy to find nice formal jewelry in brown but Virtual Impressions has several sets in pearl that is made in brown also and for this outfit, I chose the Madison Jewelry Set in Chocolate Pearls which consists of a choker part and a long strand of pearls in one necklace.

Outfit: Tres Beau, Winter Whites
Jewelry: Virtual Impressions, Madison Jewelry Set in Chocolate Pearls
Shoes: Adam n Eve Shoes, Legato (biscuits)
Hair: LeLutka, Ballerina Bun (black)

The Latest Release From B!Fashion

Barbarella Cioc has come up with yet another wonderful design! It is a lovely outfit called “Bambolina” in fuscia for which she launched a navy blue version also. She also launched a new enamel ankle boots which has a ribbon that comes in various colours. Of course, as usual, she has generously included the boots with fuscia ribbons in the set so the outfit and the ribbon on the boots have exact matching colours.

B!Fashion – Bambolina in Fuscia

Here I am wearing the fuscia version of Bambolina with the ankle boots that was included in the set. The day I was wearing this, I had several people message me asking me where I got the boots that had ribbons that matched the outfit colour so perfectly and I had to confess that it was a no-effort-styling look with the matching boots included! These boots can be purchased separately too and are offered with ribbons in different colours. Being an avid fan of ankle boots both in real life and SL, these were boots I could not pass!

Bambolina can be worn with or without the long skirt that is attached to the back and if worn without, the outfit becomes a very cute cocktail dress with a ruffled skirt. Worn with the long skirt, it becomes a gorgeous gown with the frontal part open to reveal the legs. The long skirt has a layer of lovely black lace under the top layer of silky fuscia and a large ribbon that sits on top of the hip. So when worn, it gives the outfit a very burlesque kind of an image, making this a really fancy and sexy outfit for a party.

Here I wore this dress with hair from Violator, a face tattoo from White Widow and a gorgeous set of black mabe pearl jewelry from Crystal Line where my Japanese model friend Rena Vita creates some lovely jewelry, to add to the playful and burlesque image.

Violator is known for soraya Vaher‘s unconventional designs and the earlier hair she introduced were so unconventional and wild that it was rather difficult to style them with other designer outfits. But as you can see from this hair, the recent hair she has been introducing can be worn perfectly with other brands and look really good to.

White Widow has become one of my newest favorites with face tattoos* as Julie Hastings, who I had always known as a great photographer, used her photo shop skills to create some of the most feminine and lovely face tattoos you can find. They are very elegant, detailed and comes in various colours you can choose from as well as tattoos that cover both eyes, left eye only and right eye only depending on the design. Here I am wearing the right eye version of Capucine in silver.
*Face tattoos can be worn with SL official Viewer 2 or equivalent third party viewers.

The jewelry set is made with black pearls and black “mabe” pearls. Mabe pearls are basically cultured blister pearls that have grown attached to the shell of the mollusk. They are known for their super size but flat shape making them perfect pearls to be used as pendant tops and brooches. This set also comes as a white pearl version and as in many items made by Japanese jewelry creators, includes non-scripted versions, versions with resize scripts, chokers attached to the spine and ones attached to the chest. It also comes with A type designs that have the gold ring ornament around the mabe pearls and B type designs that don’t have this and therefore are just black. So you will be surprised to see the large number of pieces that are included in one set but I love how the creator really thinks of what customers might need. Here, I am using the type A designs.

Outfit: B!Fashion, Bambolina Fucsia
Choker, earrings, ring: Crystal Line, Mabe Pearl Accessory Set
Ankle Boots: Included in the set (but can be purchased separately and in other colours)
Face tattoo: White Widow, Capucine (silver)
Hair: Violator, Rough Attitude (shiny black)

Unique Designs From Finesmith Jewelry For A Fun Look

The latest release from Finesmith Jewelry is a very avant garde set called “O Collection 03” which combines gems and metal to create a very unique design. Of course, you don’t have to buy all three pieces as a set and you can buy all the pieces separately or use it as a complete set. Here I used all three: necklace, bracelet and earrings but wore only one of the bracelets on one wrist instead of both right and left wrists. The gems are colour change, allowing the set to be used with different coloured outfits.

Finesmith Jewelry – O Collection 03

The jewelry set is really amazing but because of the impact it has, it can clash with a likewise impactful outfit and end up being a bit too much. So I chose to wear something modern and sharp, while not being too “loud”.

The boots I chose are from the latest collection from Paper Couture and although these boots do also have some impact, it is far enough from the jewelry pieces not to interfere too much and I like how it adds some fun to the entire look.

The short pants are from Miamai and it comes with a micro short version, a slightly longer version and also a silver underpants layer panty that I am wearing here. Here I am wearing the slightly longer version so you can tell how micro short the short version is!

The theme was a fun club look that I can wear to go dancing. 🙂

Necklace, bracelet & earrings: Finesmith Jewelry, O Collection 03
Corset: Dreams, Animal Print Corset (cheetah dark black)
Short pants: Miamai, Hotpants 01 (steel)
Boots: Paper Couture, Typhoon Boots (purple)
Hair: Maitreya, Aisha II (ebony)

Focusing On A Favorite Jewelry Piece…

I love jewelry that add colour which is probably why I tend to prefer jewelry pieces that are not just diamonds. If I need something white, I tend to like pearls more than diamonds because it’s less invasive, less “loud”, more elegant. BUT there are also times when I want the look to focus on an interesting piece of jewelry.

This was exactly one of those days.

ByKay – Kalya Blue Set

The necklace and earring set from ByKay by Kayleigh McMillan was absolutely lovely. It comes in 3 different colours, blue, green and olive plus a group only colour of red & orange but I instantly fell in love with the one called “Kalya – blue set“. The turquoise blue was so pretty, I was inspired to style something that would focus on the necklace and came up with something very simple but stylish.

The sunglasses I am wearing is one of my favorite sunglasses because it looks so real and has a very nice shape. It comes with a HUD that allows you to change the frame colour to three different colours and each frame colour has a set of different coloured lenses that you can choose from. It’s surprising that this pair of sunglasses was made by a shoes brand creator, Hays Uriza of Haysuriza.

The high waist of this pants set helps make this look elegant and the black and white tube top has just enough details to not interfere with the necklace. Unfortunately, I just found out today that the store where I got this pants set had just closed. The designer of this outfit, Janie Marlowe, says in her profile that she will open another store with a new brand and a new set up, so I am already looking forward to her future store.

Jewelry: ByKay, Kalya blue set
Pants & tube top set: Mischief Fashions, For Her Pleasure*
Hair band: glow Studio, Midnight Crow Crown (black)
Sunglasses: Haysuriza, Glasses Michelle with HUD
Hair: Pocket Mirror, Ethel Updo (onyx)
Shoes: Maitreya, Slinky Stiletto (black)

*Mischief Fashions regrettably has just closed its doors but the designer says she will be launching a new brand.

So today, I am introducing some lovely new releases that are not only reasonably priced but also great adds to anybody’s spring wardrobe.

The first one is a tight mini dress from Prism Haute Couture Clothing called “Musique Bandage Dress by Journey.” Journey McLaglen, the designer for this brand did such a wonderful job with the colour selection of this mini dress. The form itself is very simple, which allows the lovely colours used to be emphasized and I seriously have no words to praise her for her taste in colours. In spite of the numbers of colours she has used, no one colour stands out and they all blend beautifully into this spring creation. Kudos to the designer also for the great work she has done to match the seams and prim parts. Again, inspite of using so many colours and in horizontal lines, the sides and the lines in the prim part match beautifully and I admire the patience she had to get this right to this high quality level.

The next new release is a preview of the “Glam Tote Bag” from +plus*. Helena Compton had always been one of my favorite designers of accessories ever since I started blogging and she will be coming up with a miriad of colours with a new bag for those people who want that ‘spice’ added to their fashion to make a difference.

Here, I am holding the olive coloured bag but as always, the quality of her bags and accessories are worth checking out if you haven’t yet. Being a graphic designer in RL, Helena’s creations are always a great addition that I rely heavily on for my own styling needs and I am happy to introduce this new tote bag she will be releasing very soon.

And last but not least, another of my all time favorites in brands, Petal Meg. The colours in Fuscia Jewell’s new release “Hydrangea Tied Lariat” was perfect to add as a piece of jewelry to this spring look. I love to use her flower petal jewelry when I want some colours and also when I don’t want to use ‘heavy’ items such as gems or metal pieces and today’s fashion was exactly that.

Fuscia actually uses flower petals covered in resin to create these lovely and sweet creations in real life and she sells the same jewelry in SL as well as RL. I also have some of her real creations in RL and it is not just such a lovely jewelry to own, it is such joy to think that I own the same items as my avatar in SL!! If you are interested, you can buy her RL items in her Petal Meg Website which is where I got mine too. She will ship them to all areas of the globe so this is another thing worth checking out for your RL spring wardrobe as well.

From The Blanc Nuit Show

On January 31 (Saturday), the Nuit Blanche Show presented by Boulevard Agency and Studio Red gathered more than 100 people at the Patch Thibaud Auditorium. This was a show featuring four designers, Ashoka Eales of “Phoenix Rising”, Nardya Rousselot of “Nardcotix“, Kieran Debevec of “Chloe (jewelry)” and Lion Jonesford of “Lion Skins.”

It was a very exciting show and an awesome runway design with Boulevard models not only strutting the runway but also placed as props in the magnificent outfits, jewelry and skins from the featured designers. I was honoured that I had the opportunity to take part in this show although I must say that lag was really bad, making the walk and outfit change extremely challenging. The show ended in a great success and I wish to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in making this possible and my fellow models who all did a great job in that aweful lag.

So here are the outfits I wore in this show for those of you who couldn’t come.

The first one is an outfit called “Nardya Noir No.1″ by Nardcotix matched with the “Time Set Silver” set from Chloe and Turquoise Pinup shoes from Stiletto Moody. The shoes was styled by Stiletto Moody who took the turquoise blue of the brooch and came up with this lovely coloured shoes. So I decided to play on the blue too ending up with a slightly blue-ish black hair and blue eyes (which I usually never wear).

The skin used in this show were all from the “Noir” series from Lion Skins which were a special edition of the new “SU” line of skins that Lion developed specifically for this show. They are, however, all on sale in her store, so if you like them, it would be worth a visit. By the way, if you think you can’t find them, try tp’ing up to the roof top.

All the photographs used here, with the exception of the last close up shots in each group were taken by Tillie Ariantho and Sharron Shumann during the show.

I will post some of the outfits from these brands on another opportunity as this post will become way too long. But I will just say that I loved them!

Jewelry: Chloe, Time Set Silver

The next one was also from Nardcotix called “Nardya Noir No.13″ and it was actually a gradated gray gown with extravagant fur used around the whole neck/chest area. It was a very elegant and yet sweet outfit. The jewelry used here are from Alienbear who also provided jewelry for the show.

The last outfit I wore was from Phoenix Rising called Inner Wrappings (Red). Here it is worn as a mini one piece dress but you are given a choice of wearing it as you see here in the pics or as a shirt + pants set. This was a most sweet mini dress with an interesting prim skirt shape.

A Formal Wear That We Have Been Waiting For!

Yes! At last, after Styles of edo had been creating men’s high quality formal wear for so long, winning the “MFA 2008 Best Male Fashion Label” and “Vain Inc. Readers’ Choice Award 2008, Best Male Formal Wear” only last week, edo Tone has finally decided to share his talent for the SL ladies to enjoy.

He had made a single lady’s suit last year for a charity auction for RFL. However, no regular items of such was ever introduced that customers can go buy in his store. Finally they are here! The “Black Suit for Women” and the “Red Suit for Women” were released only today!

Haven’t you ever thought you could never stand out in a sea of beautiful ladies with gowns? In such an environment, a sharp and smart look of a lady in a men’s suit can be so much more sexy and so much more cool! Just like Yves Saint Laurent when he introduced the very first pants suit for ladies…..it was welcomed by awe and still remains a legend in the history of fashion.

The key becomes styling, however. If you just threw on these suits, they can look like women wearing men’s suits. As simple as that. So what do we do? I think we should try to look as sleek, sharp, smart and sophisticated as possible, yet have some leeway to reveal some sexiness, which should never be over done. Too much ends up in bad taste. Of course, this is my personal taste, so I am sure there will be others who will think otherwise. But this is how I styled them.

For the black suit, I wanted a very sharp look with red as the focal colour. So I wanted some short red gloves but I couldn’t find the right colour and style so I quickly made my own. It’s not hard. Just go into appearance, click on gloves, make new outfit, choose the length, texture (if you have any appropriate ones but don’t worry if you don’t) and colour. Voila! You have your own red gloves. I also added red with the tiny bit of shirt that shows from underneath the jacket as well as my lips and shoes.

Oh and one more tip about makeup. For makeup, your face should be imagined as scoring 100% with all the features. So if you use strong lip colour, it works best if you refrain from using strong colours on your eyes. On the other hand, if you used strong colours for your eye shadow and a lot of it too, the lip should be more subdued. Of course, there are irregular makeup designs that aim to achieve certain images or looks but this is the basic yard stick which I learned in RL when I was trained by a makeup artist and for regular makeup, it helps me avoid big mistakes. So here, the make up I chose focuses on the red lip and the eyes are less focused except for some lashes.

As for the red suit, I added a bit more softness overall in my choices. I still like my hair short but the one I am wearing with the red suit is a bit more round and soft. I also wore a lingerie bustier from Angel Dessous instead of a shirt since all you’ll see is the lace part and it conveniently exposes a bit of my tummy. 😛 With a belly button showing, I might want to add a belly ring here but then I remembered. This is styled as a formal wear. So in thit case, no belly ring. I often see people who will wear belly rings whenever their belly buttons are exposed but belly rings are also a jewelry piece and you want to be selective when it will be better to have one or not. Another thing I kept in mind was to not add too much red. The suit is red already so too much red becomes an over-kill. So here, I chose a sharp looking makeup with pale lips and pale red nails too. The shoes I chose is also a sharp looking pair as in the black suit but this time, a plain black pair.

Now jewelry. With these kind of outfits, glittering pieces with lots of gems or very flowery, feminine designs won’t match since I am going after a sharp look. It was only by coincidence that the best pearls I know in SL were released from Styles of edo also. I often wear the triple strand necklaces for my gowns but here I chose the single strands for simplicity. Akoya pearls (antique pearls which I blogged about earlier) for the black suit and for the red, I chose the Tahitian Pearls which are the greenish black pearls, also the best I’ve seen in SL so far. Of course, earrings should be simple too, so I chose the plain studded earrings.

Both suits have pants that come in underpants and pants layers and also in regular and low rise styles. Here in both pics, I am wearing the regular style pants.

Oh damn. I am talking way too much! I should just show you the pics which is probably easier. 😛 My apology for getting carried away but that’s how excited I am so I hope I am forgiven.

Opening 2009 With Bandit Jewelry Shop!

Last year, before things started to get crazy with the holiday season, I had an opportunity to model in a show that had Bandit Jewelry Shop as its jewelry sponsor. As such, I was sent a set of jewelry to match the outfit I wore at that time, and I totally fell in love with this set called “Regal set.” But of course, we only get a set to match the outfit for the show so at that time, I got the ruby set which was, of course, the set with red gems. Since then, I had used this necklace and earring set with many outfits but after all, it was only red and I started to feel the need for other colours.

The “Regal set” is a gorgeous set of necklace and earrings which can be purchased separately as well, that has tear drop shaped gems. The necklace is not too long nor is it short as a choker and it’s also this length that makes it so useful as it matches many outfits. The whole jewelry pieces can be re-sized simply by clicking on the piece. This triggers a blue menu to appear where you can choose whether you want it to be bigger or smaller. This is a great feature as sometimes, I want to emphasize the jewelry whereas other times, I might want it to be a subdued ornament that compliments the outfit.

Here I have shown them in default sizes in the pics.

Aside from the Bandit Jewelry Shop having awesome jewelry pieces, it also has very good looking watches which can easily be used to replace bracelets. On December 31, a Rolex type watch was just released which simply look so real! The second hand even moves to mark the seconds! For those who want something more feminine, there are bracelet type watches too like the “Lady Marquise Watch” which I have shown below.

Watches for men are also available so this can be a great Valentine Day present which some of you might already have started to think about.

Bandit Jewelry Shop – Lady Marquise Watch, Black & White

And not only does this place have jewelry and watches, it even has footwear that are simply Divine! These sandals with lots of crystals are so pretty and great matches for a party look. As any shoes lover will know, footwear can do wonders to the whole look and the ones you can find in this store are awesome as you can see here. By the way, these sandals are re-sizeable too and they can also be purchased at Jador too.

Bandit Jewlry Shop, JPB Jador Shoes “Eternity” Platinum & Diamonds

So I used these items and wore them with a dainty black dress from A La Folie’s. Hmmm…I should have used the Marquise watch instead of this one with this particular outfit but oh well….I must say I was over excited about this watch as it simply looked so real and wanted to try it so much. 😛

A Chic & Gorgeous Gown From "azul"

OK,you might be wondering “Is azul a new brand?” Well yes and no. “azul” is a revived brand/store name for Mami Jewell, who had been designing female formal wear at “Styles of edo.” She had a small store under the name “azul” before she joined “Styles of edo” as the female outfit designer. She is now bigger and more experienced and has gone independent and restarted her “azul” brand.

This gown has a design that revisits the gown that Mimmi Boa wore when she won the Miss Virtual World contest this month. In the contest, Mimmi wore a white gown with an ancient Roman painting pattern on her skirt. This time, Mami launched both the white gowns and the black gowns with different colour variations for the top bodice part but here, I wore the black one.

The skirt pattern is an image that looks almost “Japanese” with gold used as the main colour. The gown comes with different colour variations for the top bodice part which you see here as gold. But I thought either the gold or the black versions will be the best match for the skirt pattern as this skirt design is the same for all top colours.

The jewelry I wore here are from Bandit Jewelry Shop. I like this store as the designs are modern and stylish. I wanted a modern design here as a contrast to the somewhat classic taste of the skirt design in this gown. The gold and silver used in this set was also perfect to be matched as both of these colours were used in the skirt pattern.
