A Cool Gown Released From Sascha’s Designs

Sascha’s Designs is a store that sells mainly formal gowns that have a very feminine taste. Well, at least, that was the image. But Sascha is changing!

She released a gown with a slightly different image recently called Roxanna and now she even released some casual wear! I will show the casual outfit in another blog post and today I have “Roxanna” which is a cool black gown with a thick leather belt around the waist and a sheer scarf that drapes down the back from both shoulders.

The prim skirt also uses a unique texture that looks almost like feathers that fall straight down from the waist.

A simple but cool gown like this is something I find most interesting to style as there is room to play around with accessories. For example, although I wore the gown in the style that it came with, I can replace the scarf with another scarf that I might have to add a point colour, or even replace it with a rather voluminous necklace in which case, I might wear a similar bracelet over the gloves.

But today, I kept the original style and instead, matched it with an interesting hat from Chapeau Tres Mignon that looks like a net ball hat that covers the entire front of the head and face. It looks like I have a net over my face, which is a classic and elegant favorite without making the entire ‘look’ look too classic.

To keep the relatively simple and lean look of the gown, I wore simple pumps but one with a good quality look from Styles of edo.

Phoenix Resurrection by Phoenix Rising

When I first wore Phoenix Resurrection, I immediately knew why the designer named it so. It depicts a phoenix rising from the ashes.

It comes with a feathered crown, which, of course you don’t have to wear if you cannot find a hair that matches, and also luxurious feathers that cover the back of the gown skirt. If you don’t like the feathers, you are given a choice of a more plain skirt without the ornament.

What is so impressive with this gown is the top part. The upper area is full of glitter but in very elegant colours and as you go down, the top becomes very sheer as if it was using the finest of threads for the material. As you know exposing your skin, even with avatars, can sacrifice elegance in outfits making it look less classy. But this is a great way to show that little bit of skin without losing this. I have, of course, seen other outfits that use see through material but I have never seen one so sheer as if it blends into the skin.

The gown looks very slim when viewed from the front but once you see the side or back view, you notice how the gown flows away from your body and looking as if it was trailing behind.

I used a Gabrielle Gem Set in Antique White Pearls from Virtual Impressions. This is a jewelry store that makes such realistic pearls! In fact, when edo Tone wanted antique pearls to sell in his store, Chrissy Ambrose, the creator and designer for Virtual Impressions was who he turned to. So the design may be different but the pearl pieces are the same pearls that edo has in the Style of edo pearl jewelry, which I still think are the best on the grid.

The design that Chrissy came up with, however, is a little more decorative and she has a collection of antique pearls, white pearls, pink pearls and black pearls with the same design. As her prices are always very reasonable and affordable, it would be a great addition to have all four variations, as they look so good with gowns.

A New Release From Azul

Mami Jewell of “azul” has just released a new gown called Mia. It is an elegant gown that has a very wide black ribbon that composes the bodice of the gown and tied in a very big and soft ribbon at the front. The colours are arranged into what seems like a graduation with the colour becoming darker at the skirt but more vibrant at the top, creating an interesting look to an otherwise very simple design. The skirt is soft and voluminous while it is cropped short at the front revealing the legs. I found this gown to be great for dancing as you can still be in a formal gown while your legs will be revealed as if you were wearing a short cocktail dress.

I matched this gown with a very unusual coloured hair. I tried my usual black, but with a navy coloured dress, I wanted a bit more colour to the entire look. This is a colour called “pink brown” and it is a colour that is only available if you purchased a fat pack of the Kay ver2 hair at R’s Hair Style. Usually pink hair will be too childish or only good for fantasy looks but this one, because of the shade of brown in the pink, was good for any style with a touch of difference.

Choice of shoes will be important with this gown so I couldn’t just slap on a pair of “same coloured pumps” that you can’t even see anyway. I chose Stiletto Moody’s Bare series sandals to emphasize the bare legs in this look.

A Chic & Gorgeous Gown From "azul"

OK,you might be wondering “Is azul a new brand?” Well yes and no. “azul” is a revived brand/store name for Mami Jewell, who had been designing female formal wear at “Styles of edo.” She had a small store under the name “azul” before she joined “Styles of edo” as the female outfit designer. She is now bigger and more experienced and has gone independent and restarted her “azul” brand.

This gown has a design that revisits the gown that Mimmi Boa wore when she won the Miss Virtual World contest this month. In the contest, Mimmi wore a white gown with an ancient Roman painting pattern on her skirt. This time, Mami launched both the white gowns and the black gowns with different colour variations for the top bodice part but here, I wore the black one.

The skirt pattern is an image that looks almost “Japanese” with gold used as the main colour. The gown comes with different colour variations for the top bodice part which you see here as gold. But I thought either the gold or the black versions will be the best match for the skirt pattern as this skirt design is the same for all top colours.

The jewelry I wore here are from Bandit Jewelry Shop. I like this store as the designs are modern and stylish. I wanted a modern design here as a contrast to the somewhat classic taste of the skirt design in this gown. The gold and silver used in this set was also perfect to be matched as both of these colours were used in the skirt pattern.

Having Some Fun With A Gown :-)

Ok, who said we had to be chic and elegant all the time when we wore gowns? We can have some fun too if you find the right gown for some fun styling.

“Floreale Black Gown” from Clio Pret-a-Porter was exactly such a gown. Black gowns are always the best sellers but you would wear it with an updo or some party hair. Maybe a cocktail hat to add some interest. When I saw this one, I just had to try a completely different look. The flower patterns of the black gown have stunning bright pop colours and the gown was just so sweet!

I am sure you will stand out in a crowd when you go to all these parties that are going now with the holiday season kicking in. I was tp’d to a place while I was still styling this and sure enough, I got “comments.” *giggles* The tiny hat I’m wearing is from a Japanese store and the designer, Kumii Yoshikawa has some awesome items including sweet shoes that match this hat. She has many colour variations but they all look almost like candies (this does not mean her whole store is a candy store though). Clio had a white version of this gown, so if I had gotten that one, I would have worn the white/candy pink coloured hat and shoes.

This hair is a funky hair from “Here Comes Trouble.” Of course the two notches at the end of the pony tails that stick out were not this colour. I edited them to match the pink in the hat and dress by editing linked parts. A little effort goes a long way but certainly not something you want to do when you have an event you just can’t be late and only have 5 more minutes till it starts. On top of that, you still have to choose your shoes, your jewelry, still haven’t gone to the rest room and your boy friend is asking you if he should wear a brown hair or a light brown hair.

For a happy holiday season, I think I like this style a lot. Perfect for a party with some fun friends.

A Fairy-like Gown From Aischas Fashion

For a change, I felt like wearing a really girly fairy-like gown and I found just the one at Aischas Fashion. As you can see, the gown is basically white but has pink and black in the bodice and prim skirt parts while it’s ornamented with pure white frills on the shoulders and both sides of the waist, giving it a fairy like look as well as adding some fun. And look at the fourth picture below. There is a sweet flower pattern on the back of the bodice which looks so sweet from the back.

I guess normally you would match white shoes with this gown but I wanted to play up on the pink in the gown so I wore pink make-up and pink shoes. The skin is from Tuli this time as Tuli Emily skins tend to give me a strong but sweet look, compared to the softer look ISIS from Beauty Avatar gives me.

Jewelry is from my fav store, Lovable Hearts set from Vincenca Rosca Jewellery. You can change the gem and there are 3 different types of necklaces in this one set. The pink heart was so much befitting to my mood at that time. I just felt so sweet and girly. 😛

I have added a long shot picture just because the rain forest I came to photo shoot in was so lovely and I wanted to show more of the forest even if it couldn’t show the gown as I will be so tiny in the pic here. I just love these beautiful places you can go to in SL.

OC Orage Creations – A Gown For An Elegant Night Out

OC Orage Creations is another great name in Italian fashion whose creations can be found in the Best of Italian sim, which is one of my favorite shopping places. I never stop to wonder why Italian people are so talented in design and creation which is true not only in SL but in RL as well. Elletra Gausman is no exception. Her designs are dynamic, creative and sophisticated giving much pleasure to many fashionistas in the SL virtual world.

Here I am wearing Marvel Dress, which is one of her recent releases. It is a simple dress made with silky taffeta like material that has a tight fit to the body without any big prim skirt that poofs out from the waist. Instead, it had a very big ribbon set on your back which adds that sweetness while maintaining a very elegant look to it.

I matched it up with a black pearl jewelry set from Bandit Jewelry Shop. The necklace is this set is a three strand necklace with diamond ornaments that add an interesting touch to the design and matches this otherwise simple but elegant dress.

The hair is from Exile and also one of my favs. The ribbon colour can be changed by clicking on it and choosing the colour from a drop down menu that appears.

This can be a nice dress to wear to a classy formal Christmas party.

November Gift Item From ALB Dream Fashion

One of my favorite stores is ALB Dream Fashion with all the colourful gowns and outfits that are so unique. Designer AnaLee Balut certain has a LOT of creativity and creates the most dreamy fashion. No wonder she named her store “ALB Dream Fashion.”

What’s amazing is that she always places a monthly free gift item for all those who visit her store. This is wonderful for me as I am always so capped in groups that I don’t have any slots left to join store groups. So I make it a regular trip to visit her store every month to pick up the monthly free item and also to do other shopping as well. I must say, the items she places as free definitely do not look like any freebie at all! She always has a full set of outfits that can be sold in her store as any regular item or sometimes even more with everything like skins and accessories included.

For the month of November, she had this set – Firebird Set. As the name suggests, it’s a gorgeous dress with flaming colours! If you don’t attach the prim parts, it will even be a sexy lingerie with a sweet thong and a corset tied at the back.

To match this gorgeous gown, I wore a feather hair accessory that is colour changing to fit various coloured outfits. The colour “mango” was perfect for this set. And to finish off, I wore the same coloured make up skin from Lion Skins which is also my fav with so many different make ups to choose from. If the make up colours fit the outfit you are wearing, you are sure to achieve the most stunning look! On the other hand, I decided not to wear any other jewelry. With this gown, feathers and make-up, sometimes too much can be an over-kill. As you often say, “the last piece is always too much!”

This time, I also took some pics to take in the atmosphere of this lovely club that my dear friend introduced me to. Club Noir La Musique – a world of black and white and so chic. The bright gown made a perfect contrast to this simple world of no colours but if I go visit again, a pitch black dress might be chic and befitting to this club also.

I Feel Like A Faerie: LBD New Gown

A lovely gown had been released by LeeZu Baxter Designs. Ginko Flexi Dress – Lilie. It is such a grand gown and yet the dainty image it has is quite amazing. The top is almost bare on the left side and not only is it sweet but also very sexy.

The very delicate colours, which can only be described at pink and green, but no way would those two colour names do justice to this very delicate and sweet colours, is used with amazing texture. It comes with a large hair ornament that looks like three flowers and also three skirt parts. One of them is the one closest to a normal gown but LeeZu made this skirt with an amazing 136 prims which shows the detail and the amount of work that had gone into it. It is slightly longer at the back and because of this length, the green part at the bottom of the skirts shows more at the back, making it a charming part of the design.

Then there is a more sheer looking sculpture primed skirt that is more full and not flexi. This part can be attached together with the flexi skirt, which I did in the pics. There is also a short mini skirt, which is a whopping 192 prims! With the mini skirt, the outfit looks almost like a faerie outfit. I know there will be personal tastes but I like the long grand ballroom skirt the most because I think it makes the most out of the dainty colours and delicate design of the top part.

The solf colours of this gown matched the Classic Akoya Pearl jewelry that was launched from Styles of edo because the pearls in these pieces are cream pink coloured rather than white due to aging. I wrote about these pearls in my previous post so please refer to this write up if you are interested. It’s no ordinary pearls so I thought the value and quality of these pearls matched this gorgeous gown aside from the colour.

Swanilda; A New Gown From Styles of edo

So this is my second post for today as I wanted to keep posts from jewelry separate from outfits (see the post below for a new Classic Akoya Pearl jewelry release from Styles of edo).

Together with a launch of antique Akoya Pearl jewelries, Styles of edo just released a gown called Swanilda which is a long gown version of Coppelia. The elegant gown now has a shoulder stall in addition to the long skirt and comes in seven beautiful colours; black, blue, brown, olive, pink, red and turquoise.

The impression of this new gown is that it’s just simply elegant! Not too much and not overly decorative which accentuates the quality of the satin texture used which designer and creator, Mami Jewell is so good at. This will be a perfect gown for ladies who are looking for elegant gowns for high class social events that require style, elegance but more importantly good taste in fashion.
