Wen Winkler: A New Designer of Great Gowns

I ran into Wen some time ago when she just opened a new store as her very own. Wen had been a designer with OMG! Inc., but she launched on a project to have her own outfits in her own store. She had some wedding gowns and some coloured gowns for the bride maids when I walked in. This was my first encounter with Wen.

It’s been about a month or so since then. She had been sending me pics of her new releases and I couldn’t believe how quickly she was turning into a great gown designer! Even when she started, she was already quite impressive with the textures she was using but now she is acquiring new skills to create interesting gowns on top of her texture skills.

I must say I am VERY impressed!! I was so excited when I visited her store yesterday since the last time I visited about a month ago. I was thinking “I knew it!! I knew it!!” Wen’s gowns are all very elegant but she makes gowns that leave a strong impression. It could be the colours she uses together with her designs. But her gowns, for some reason, are memorable. I will introduce some of her lovely creations here from time to time and here is one of them – “Purple Haze.”

The purple Wen chose for this gown is just right to give it an almost royal feel to it in addition to the top part that gives it a bit of a classic touch. The basic design is simple, but it’s these small details that give the gown a very nice look and feel that makes you feel like a princess.

I am now convinced that Wen Winkler will be one designer I need to keep my eyes on.

Nicole, A New Release From Styles of edo

Styles of edo, released a new gown called Nicole yesterday. It is a very sexy satin gown with fur, so timely as we slowly approach the cold winter days that await us.

The gown comes in 8 colours. This time, in addition to the regular colours such as black and red, Mami Jewell, designer of female outfits at Styles of edo, came up with very subtle colours such as lavendar, light blue and even gold for those who like to make bold statements. This is the first gown that Mami releases with fur but her very sexy style remains without change. Just look how low the back of the gown cuts down to. In RL, I would be so self conscious to wear something so low. But this is SL and I might as well enjoy it as much as I can.

I was thinking where would I want to wear this? And what more would be fit than a gorgeous high class cruiser trip with parties every night. So dreaming of such a lovely cruiser trip, I came to the Titanic sim for a photoshoot on the SL Titanic.

Elegant "Josephine" From Styles of edo

Mami Jewell has released another elegant gown today called “Josephine.” It looks like a gown that Juliet would wear in Romeo & Juliet. Sweet and classic, with delicate lace used on the rims of the skirt. The gown comes in 5 colours. Black, red, blue, olive and purple.

I matched it with a pearl necklace that has a very classic design from PISA. It has ruby ornaments in an otherwise simple pearl necklace, that gives this rich, classic look to it. I also wore matching earrings.

Sexy New Launch From Styles of edo

Mami Jewell, designer for all female outfits at Styles of edo has just launched yet another very sexy gown, “Mojito Royal (pronounced mohito).” It’s practically all glitter!!

The reason why it’s call Mojito Royal is because she has also launched “Mojito,” a shorter, knee length version of this gown. The basic form of the gown is kept very simple, which is probably the reason why this gown does not look “over done” even with all the glitter. The gown comes in seven colours; black, red, blue, green, orange, pink and silver. This is going to be a tough decision to make which one to get!!

The gowns that Mami has been introducing had all been extremely well made and sexy. “Mojito Royal” is certainly another addition to her line of sexy outfits that can be worn to any party or a romantic dance in a ballroom.

Here I matched a classic pearl necklace with ruby ornaments as any gem based jewelry will be a bit too much glitter.

Milonga, A Sexy Dress To Dance a Tango

Mami Jewell, designer for “Styles of edo” who creates all female outfits have introduced a very sexy dress called Milonga.

The dress reveals the left let all the way from the top! This would be a dress which will require quite a bit of courage to wear in RL but hey, why not in SL? I haven’t been able to yet, but I would love to go dancing in this. When I looked up the meaning of Milonga (hmmm I have to admit, I didn’t know this word), it said an Argentine Tango. No wonder!

And as all of Mami’s outfits, the dress has a great texture which I had to show in the last pic attached.

I Love Hats!

I am sure everybody has textures they like. Some like leopard skin texture (well, I guess a LOT do) and some like zebra, polka dots or simple stripes. In my case, it’s peacock feather. I don’t know why, but I am always fascinated by peacock feather.

So I had this gown from Vanity Affairs for as long as I remember. It’s always been my favorite no matter how many times I wear it!

And today, I came across a wonderful hat shop which I am ashamed to admit, I had never visited before. And I am an avid hat fan!! I am pretty sure I own a lot of, if not most of, the couture hats that exist in SL, and yet I hadn’t visited this one.

It’s called Hatpins and the hats Reghan Straaf designs and creates have such awesome detail that I fell in love the moment I saw her store. Her hats are designed to match more antique style or Victorian style gowns but simply because I probably wear “regular” gowns and dresses more frequently, I decided that I wanted to use her hats with these “non-Victorian” outfits too.

This charming hat is called Lady Isabelle and comes in many colour variations but what is the same with all the colour variation is that they all have three peacock feathers attached to the back of the hat.

Yes PEACOCK!!
So here it is…another exciting way to wear this gown that I have worn in so many different ways.

Reghan has three stores but here, I will embed the surl for her main store where she has all her hats on display. This is a must store to check out for all those fashionistas who like hats!

And of course, the skin used is my fav skin when I want to play with colours, Lion Skins. I just love the colours of eye shadow available!
