OMG OMG A New Release Called "Kay"!!!

Anubis Hartunian of Anubis Style released a new outfit called “Kay”!!! She says she visualized me when she designed it! OMG, OMG, OMG!!

I just had a hair called “Kay Fairey” released by a hair creator friend, but now an outfit? This is such a great honour for me and I must say I am more than thrilled but also feel that I have to do my best to respond to this honour!

This is a sweet outfit that looks almost like a baby doll style outfit. But it is not just “cutey” sweet. It’s very haute couture too! If you look at the photograph that shows the side view, you will notice that a sculpty prim had been added to give that couture-look collar and both the top part of the outfit and the high waist belt is twisted to add that bit of interest. It comes with a pair of rolled up capri pants that make it look very active and gives it a lively image. But in spite of that, the colour is black/gray, which is a colour scheme that I love! If this was a bright colour, this will be a regular sweet baby doll and it’s this colour scheme, that almost looks contrary to the style, that makes this look “haute couture.”

To add some fun, I thought I would add a colour, but what colour? After some thought, I decided to go with pink as red will make it look too harsh and pink + gray usually gives a fun result while keeping an elegant look. But at the same time, I didn’t want to mess with the great colour she had for the outfit so I decided to add pink with my make up and shoes.

I used a skin from Beauty Avatar called “ISIS” in light skin tone. I wanted a soft look and this skin was perfect for the soft but cool look that I was looking for, although Beauty Avatar does have others that give a harsher and sharper look. I also chose a fun hair and this is what I got.

Fun, Fun, Fun at ALB Dream Fashion!

I tp’d to ALB Dream Fashion as I heard that AnaLee had put out an advent calendar. Ooooh those happy and sweet memories! As a child, I used to LOVE advent calendars. Not that you get anything from them but by opening the windows every day, I would count the days till Christmas and the act of opening the small windows itself was so fun!

But this time, you not only get to open the windows everyday, you receive gifts! She said she has all sorts of items in each window, jewelry, outfits, even skins! Now how fun is that!! And AnaLee always puts out great freebies every month! None of them are freebie quality. The monthly free gifts are usually a complete outfit set that can include even skins and different sets of jewelries. Even if they are not for free, I love her dynamic and So even without seeing what I get, I know this must be good. Well it started from December 1 so if you haven’t gone yet, you’ve already missed some days. So hurry down before you miss any more!

And when you get there, don’t forget to click around. She has also scattered various free gifts as well as very low priced items in her store. It’s almost like a treasure hunt, only that the gifts are not hidden. They are out there, but just may not look like gifts.

AND have some more fun while you are there. There is a skating rink outside the store, where you can get male and female skate shoes for free. There is also a lovely and charming snow covered garden where you can take a ride on a merry-go-round, buy gorgeous cushions and rugs you see placed here and there (and they are nice too! If only I had more prims…..sighs) or even enjoy a snowball fight! I was alone when I went there and when I saw a snowman that had a message that said I could get a snowball to throw and a collider for free, I thought to myself “damn! It’s no fun snowball fighting on my own. 😦 ” But when I took the snowball and collider anyway, there was a notecard that came with them that said I could even buy the snowball giver for free!! Yay! This means, I can rez this anywhere I like and let my friends take the snowball and collider also! And the collider that comes with it will make you fall if you get hit. Now THAT’s some FUN! And I don’t even have to tp my friends here for them to get the snowballs! By the way, the snowman holding the giver was free too. This will be a great set up for a Christmas party!

So I came back home with a huge smile on my face. I not only got a lot of great items for free, I had so much fun and even enjoyed a nostalgic and sweet time remembering my childhood days. Seriously, this advent calendar is something you really don’t want to miss.

Have fun!!

The HUGE advent calendar placed on the right wall outside the entrance to the store.

OC Orage Creations – A Gown For An Elegant Night Out

OC Orage Creations is another great name in Italian fashion whose creations can be found in the Best of Italian sim, which is one of my favorite shopping places. I never stop to wonder why Italian people are so talented in design and creation which is true not only in SL but in RL as well. Elletra Gausman is no exception. Her designs are dynamic, creative and sophisticated giving much pleasure to many fashionistas in the SL virtual world.

Here I am wearing Marvel Dress, which is one of her recent releases. It is a simple dress made with silky taffeta like material that has a tight fit to the body without any big prim skirt that poofs out from the waist. Instead, it had a very big ribbon set on your back which adds that sweetness while maintaining a very elegant look to it.

I matched it up with a black pearl jewelry set from Bandit Jewelry Shop. The necklace is this set is a three strand necklace with diamond ornaments that add an interesting touch to the design and matches this otherwise simple but elegant dress.

The hair is from Exile and also one of my favs. The ribbon colour can be changed by clicking on it and choosing the colour from a drop down menu that appears.

This can be a nice dress to wear to a classy formal Christmas party.

A New Hair Called "Kay"!! AND A New Dress Of Course!

Rise Matove of R’s Hair Style, a hair store in Japan, just released a hair style called “Kay Fairey”!! Whoooot! And I seriously love this hair style, not only because it has my name! It’s elegant but not too quiet, and it’s not wild either. It matches with both formal wear as well as casual. In fact, it was quite cute wearing it with jeans too. Of course, it comes in other colours for those who want other colour hair. It uses flexi prims so it has movement. In fact, I wore this hair with my opening dress at the MB-Designs show that I was in last Saturday with Boulevard Agency.

As for the dress, this is a new release from Anubis Style called “Blue Night.” The colour is very chic and also unique. A deep blue that almost looks like a midnight sky or a deep deep ocean. It comes with two styles of gloves, and you can choose between roses made with the same material and colour or metal broches with metal fringes for ornaments. It also has a long and short versions for the skirt part, the long being a somewhat sheer skirt while the short skirt uses solid prims that look triangular shaped. This might be easier to understand if you saw the pictures below.

The skin I am wearing is also a new skin released from Beauty Avatar called “Malica.” As you can see, the body contour as well as the face is very detailed with very nice eye brows. Eye brows are VERY important in skins and when I choose skins, I must say the first thing I see is how the eye brows are drawn. This skin had a very natural and nicely shaped eye brow that I absolutely loved.

The dress comes with studded diamonds along the breast hem. So another necklace will be a bit too much so I only am only wearing some black pearl studded earrings from Styles of edo. I could have worn diamond earrings to match the dress ornament but I didn’t want to make it too blingy with lots of gem. But for those who do like gem stones, diamond earrings will be another option for sure.

A New Designer, A New Store: Maria Bonita

I visited a new store, “Maria Bonita” that was just opened by a designer called Mell Coage. I must say, I enjoyed the visit immensely! She had a lot of outfits for a new store….almost too much to look at and all sold at very reasonable prices! All outfits were in the 100 – 130L range which meant, I could buy lots and not worry too much about my Lindens. And shop I did.

Although a lot of her clothes were casual, she also had some that were fit to be worn to a party. A lot of colours, a lot of fun and a lot of styles.

Here, I am showing two outfits I got. One is an outfit called “Dance Bling Outfit.” As the name suggests, this is a fun short pants set that comes with a simple black tank top. It was simple enough to allow me to have fun with other items I matched it up with. I chose a metallic tights that I picked up at G.L.A.M as a freebie offered in the store that was modifiable so we could colour it to whatever colour we wished. This is great to match, as I often find that the tights or stockings that I have, don’t match because of the slight difference in colour tone. I also played with a fun hair from Cocoluv. This hair comes with a colour changing turban that will also make it easier to match up.

Then I wore a pair of black boots that has hot pink shoe sole. So although it looks plain black, the pink underneath shows as I dance or walk.

And this is the fun look I got. All ready to go out dancing!!

Tights: G.L.A.M., Tintable Metallic Lycra Tights (solid yellow) *freebie

Hair: Cocoluv, Missy (black)

Skin: Minnu, Fair (cat)

The next one is one of the outfits Mell has that will be great for a party to which you might want to wear something not as formal as a ballroom gown but something fun and stylish. It’s called “Dress Pompom Black” and as the name suggests, has a pompom-like skirt with a top that has a sheer part both in the front and back in different shapes. It’s an outfit that is both sexy and sweet.

The stockings I wore here were a pair of stockings that was given out at the Styles of edo for free. It has a line at the back which are a kind of stockings I like a lot. Sometimes those lace or fishnet stockings are fancy but a bit too much and I tend to prefer these simple ones to match with outfits.

If you haven’t yet, try making a visit to Maria Bonita. I am sure you will have as much fun as I did.

November Gift Item From ALB Dream Fashion

One of my favorite stores is ALB Dream Fashion with all the colourful gowns and outfits that are so unique. Designer AnaLee Balut certain has a LOT of creativity and creates the most dreamy fashion. No wonder she named her store “ALB Dream Fashion.”

What’s amazing is that she always places a monthly free gift item for all those who visit her store. This is wonderful for me as I am always so capped in groups that I don’t have any slots left to join store groups. So I make it a regular trip to visit her store every month to pick up the monthly free item and also to do other shopping as well. I must say, the items she places as free definitely do not look like any freebie at all! She always has a full set of outfits that can be sold in her store as any regular item or sometimes even more with everything like skins and accessories included.

For the month of November, she had this set – Firebird Set. As the name suggests, it’s a gorgeous dress with flaming colours! If you don’t attach the prim parts, it will even be a sexy lingerie with a sweet thong and a corset tied at the back.

To match this gorgeous gown, I wore a feather hair accessory that is colour changing to fit various coloured outfits. The colour “mango” was perfect for this set. And to finish off, I wore the same coloured make up skin from Lion Skins which is also my fav with so many different make ups to choose from. If the make up colours fit the outfit you are wearing, you are sure to achieve the most stunning look! On the other hand, I decided not to wear any other jewelry. With this gown, feathers and make-up, sometimes too much can be an over-kill. As you often say, “the last piece is always too much!”

This time, I also took some pics to take in the atmosphere of this lovely club that my dear friend introduced me to. Club Noir La Musique – a world of black and white and so chic. The bright gown made a perfect contrast to this simple world of no colours but if I go visit again, a pitch black dress might be chic and befitting to this club also.

Swanilda; A New Gown From Styles of edo

So this is my second post for today as I wanted to keep posts from jewelry separate from outfits (see the post below for a new Classic Akoya Pearl jewelry release from Styles of edo).

Together with a launch of antique Akoya Pearl jewelries, Styles of edo just released a gown called Swanilda which is a long gown version of Coppelia. The elegant gown now has a shoulder stall in addition to the long skirt and comes in seven beautiful colours; black, blue, brown, olive, pink, red and turquoise.

The impression of this new gown is that it’s just simply elegant! Not too much and not overly decorative which accentuates the quality of the satin texture used which designer and creator, Mami Jewell is so good at. This will be a perfect gown for ladies who are looking for elegant gowns for high class social events that require style, elegance but more importantly good taste in fashion.

Wen Winkler: A New Designer of Great Gowns

I ran into Wen some time ago when she just opened a new store as her very own. Wen had been a designer with OMG! Inc., but she launched on a project to have her own outfits in her own store. She had some wedding gowns and some coloured gowns for the bride maids when I walked in. This was my first encounter with Wen.

It’s been about a month or so since then. She had been sending me pics of her new releases and I couldn’t believe how quickly she was turning into a great gown designer! Even when she started, she was already quite impressive with the textures she was using but now she is acquiring new skills to create interesting gowns on top of her texture skills.

I must say I am VERY impressed!! I was so excited when I visited her store yesterday since the last time I visited about a month ago. I was thinking “I knew it!! I knew it!!” Wen’s gowns are all very elegant but she makes gowns that leave a strong impression. It could be the colours she uses together with her designs. But her gowns, for some reason, are memorable. I will introduce some of her lovely creations here from time to time and here is one of them – “Purple Haze.”

The purple Wen chose for this gown is just right to give it an almost royal feel to it in addition to the top part that gives it a bit of a classic touch. The basic design is simple, but it’s these small details that give the gown a very nice look and feel that makes you feel like a princess.

I am now convinced that Wen Winkler will be one designer I need to keep my eyes on.

"sey" Rider Jacket…….Again!

I posted about “sey’s” new rider jacket on October 30 and I have already wrote that there were 8 colour variations to this jacket. Well, I ended up getting the silver one also and thought I might show it without a hood this time. The set comes with pieces that allow you to wear it with and without a hood and even if you chose to have a hood, you can still choose whether you want boa around the hood or a simple hood with no boa. This is great for mixing and matching as boa does sometimes get in the way and I have regretted many times in the past that a jacket didn’t have boa.

So here, I wore it without any hood and kept it very simple. I like taking a hard image item and matching them to create a sweet look so this time I matched it up with pink items to make a more girlie look. As with all of risey Arai’s outfits that he creates, the details and texture of the jacket is great as you can also see from the half length jeans that I also got in his store. This pair of jeans will be a fun item to make funky looks or playful looks.
